Every ( 5 or 6 cruises) Northern Lights cruise this year missed the same two ports Stavanger and Bodo. Viking changed the Stavanger Port to Lerwick, Scotland. Not one time was Viking Venus able to dock in either Bodo or Lerwick because of weather.
The result--every cruise had 5 consecutive days at sea either at the start or at the end.

We chose this cruise because we were invited by friends to see the Northern Lights. We had never been to Norway nor on a Viking Ship and had never been on a cold winter cruise.
