From the minute we walked on board we could feel the elegance of a Viking Ship. Our State Room was ready and it was what I expected and more. The choices of food are outstanding, and many I have never had before. Service on the ship made us feel like family, all crew members we encountered go above and beyond to help you. Some excursions were cancelled due to high winds at port. Whenever ...
Oh, how we wanted to love our first Viking cruise! All the advertising and all our friends and family said Viking’s the best, with all-balcony staterooms, a truly all-inclusive program, no one under 18 and lectures instead of casinos.
And we fully understand that weather happens, and the storm that trapped the Viking Venus in Tromsø, Norway, definitely was beyond Viking’s control. And Viking ...
We loved this voyage! The trip is for someone who is adventurous and doesn't mind being cold, wet, and blown around. Be prepared for 3 hours max daylight each day. The ship rocked substantially but I found it was manageable with a seasick pill every now and then and wrist bands. I didn't know of anyone who got sick. If anything the banging and creaking wall noises during the rough seas was the ...
What we liked: Everything Viking did was great! The ship was modern, spotless, right-sized....just an overall wonderful ship. The staff and crew were very friendly and always willing to help. We always found something good to eat and gained the customary poundage. The destinations were fabulous on this itinerary.
What we didn't like as much: Sea days were somewhat boring. Yes, we could ...
I have long wanted to visit Iceland. The itinerary was outstanding. Captain Olav was very accessible and friendly. Having sailed with Viking, I had very high expectations and encouraged another couple to cruise with me. Having high expectations, Viking did not exceed my expectations. The dining offerings were not as superior as my last Viking cruise. Some of the meat was tough and difficult ...
Loved the ship, the itinerary, the staff, the stateroom but did not like the fellow passengers. They were old, rude, selfish, and slow. For the money we paid we should have not felt judged - but since we were one of the youngest couples celebrating our 25 year anniversary- we were given the side eye most of the cruise - we made the most of it but the entertainment and pace and flow of the cruise ...
We've been on cruise hiatus since COVID so were excited to board the new Saturn, our first time with Viking. The ship and the food exceeded our expectations.
Saturn is sleek, smooth and serene, beautifully designed for peaceful enjoyment, with numerous sitting areas inviting you to relax. The center pool, wintergarden, spa and Explorer’s lounge were warm and comfy—though you're a little ...
This was our very first cruise. On the whole it was good, and we plan to sail with Viking again, but there were some hiccups.
About a year before the cruise, they shifted us to a different ship leaving about a week later. And a few months after that, they announced that three of the planned stops had been changed. We were very disappointed to miss Belfast, but Isle of Man was very nice and ...
A great cruise to see the various areas of the British Isles, with Bergen Norway as a bonus. Enjoyed each port which included ones in Scotland, Ireland, Wales, and England. Starting in Bergen added variety and interest to the cruise. The Mars ship was nice, clean, comfortable, and well laid out. The ship’s stabilizers allow for relatively smooth sailing even in stormy conditions. Crossing the ...
We had been on many Viking River cruises but never on a Viking ocean cruise. We were excited to see Iceland while experiencing a Viking ocean cruise for the first time. We found that the included excursions were very basic (e.g., walk around a small Iceland town of 700 people). The excursions that were not complimentary were very pricy, far exceeding what we experienced on Viking river cruises. ...
