Second riverboat cruise, since enjoyed first one so much. Like personal touch of riverboats. Comfortable rooms and well-serviced. Get to know other travelers with open seating at all meals; have made many new friends on our cruises. Attentive staff who quickly learned our names and beverage preferences. Shore excursions included, and most guides are very good. Each meal had a featured menu ...
Great destinations, all stunning European cities, met many interesting cruisemates.State room was adequate enough, although small. Ship was dated, looks like a refurbish is in order (carpeting). The crew were friendly and efficient with their tasks. Food was very good, as always on Viking. Onboard credit should be usable for applying towards tipping the ship crew/staff.
Some of the ports were ...
We want a romantic getaway with a small group, no children or pets and a chance to explore European history while enjoy fine cuisines and good wine. With Viking and this cruise, we achieved all of our goals.
Each stop along the way was unique and walkable. We were fortunate to have delightful weather and friendly cruisemates. Each evening, we enjoyed a pre-dinner drink at the bar while ...
We were “warned” that this ship was on its last legs for Viking. I hope this is not the case. We sailed her last week from Budapest to Passau. The ship was completely renovated. New carpet, furnishings and decor. Nothing showed any signs of wear. It was great. The staff seemed proud of their “new” ship. The winter weather was gone and we had a great time. The ship is still without an elevator. A ...
We decided on the Viking Danube Waltz River Cruise for our 40th Wedding Anniversary celebration because of it's all inclusiveness/little planning on our part appeal. We have never been outside of the United States except for a tropical Disney Cruise. We were dreading the long flights since we don't even like 3 hours flights within the states, but we survived. We toured from Passau to Budapest ...
This was our first ever river cruise and I was pleasantly surprised. Our cabin was very nice and the service was outstanding. Loved the intimacy of the boat and the fact that we got to meet to many wonderful people and made some lasting friendships. We explored Munich prior to getting on the boat and Viking did such a wonderful job of making that so enjoyable. There was nothing that we had to ...
This region, it's history and its variety of cities and countryside were of great interest to us. This time of year was particularly appealing. The entire staff performed beyond our expectations. Professional, friendly, caring, vigilante to our every need. highlights, for us, included the side trip to Terezin, Cresky Krumlov, and viewing the countryside from the boat. Loved going through the ...
This was an excellent way to explore the Danube region. Great historic sites and scenery, but after a while there is a sameness to the cathedrals and castles and it is almost too much to absorb at one time. Cobblestones are "quaint" but they play havoc with lower back and legs. Our floating home was very comfortable and the crew were friendly and helpful. Food was well presented and provided ...
Loved everything about it. Great cabin, excellent services.
Clean, food outstanding. Love how they serve regional dishes at different destinations.
This time, we didn't do the formal dinners/dining rooms. We did the buffet so we could get a taste of everything!
LOVE the smaller, more intimate ships. Don't want those "floating cities."
Once you go with Viking cruises, River or Ocean, ...
What a wonderful experience on the Danube River. If you love to visit interesting cities and towns and explore (at your own pace or with a group), then this is the cruise for you. The scenery on the Danube river on sailing days is spectacular...took my breath away, even other passengers were so friendly...met great people at dinners. The ship was tidy and clean, service and staff is first ...
