We chose this cruise for the tour down the Danube. Our first river cruiswe and we were thrilled. We met wonderful people and the staff was amazing. Very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. The cruise itself was so fun and picturesque. We really enjoyed the tours and learned so much about the history and culture of the cities and tours. We started 2 days ahead in Prague and then went to ...

We have sailed on both Viking River and Viking Ocean ships, which we have enjoyed a great deal. When we saw the itinerary for this trip we decided to go. We are very glad that we did, because we had the most wonderful time. The ports of call were all amazing. We saw and learned a great deal at each stop. All the tour guides were excellent and we especially found the tour guide for the ...

First time on River Cruise. Really appreciated the size and intimacy of a river cruise. Also, being able to walk off the ship right into town for serval of the ports/ cities along the Danube. Service was excellent. Really enjoyed most of the excursions. Excellent in country guides. Highlights of the trip: mid day organ concert in Passau, sailing through the Wachau Valley, Sailing into Budapest at ...

Second riverboat cruise, since enjoyed first one so much. Like personal touch of riverboats. Comfortable rooms and well-serviced. Get to know other travelers with open seating at all meals; have made many new friends on our cruises. Attentive staff who quickly learned our names and beverage preferences. Shore excursions included, and most guides are very good. Each meal had a featured menu ...

Great destinations, all stunning European cities, met many interesting cruisemates.State room was adequate enough, although small. Ship was dated, looks like a refurbish is in order (carpeting). The crew were friendly and efficient with their tasks. Food was very good, as always on Viking. Onboard credit should be usable for applying towards tipping the ship crew/staff. Some of the ports were ...

Cathedrals, Castles and Cobblestones

This was an excellent way to explore the Danube region. Great historic sites and scenery, but after a while there is a sameness to the cathedrals and castles and it is almost too much to absorb at one time. Cobblestones are "quaint" but they play havoc with lower back and legs. Our floating home was very comfortable and the crew were friendly and helpful. Food was well presented and provided ...

We just returned from Viking's Romantic Danube Cruise from Budapest to Nuremburg and had a wonderful time! We chose this tour because I really wanted to see these cities and our extension to Prague. And we chose Viking because of the cost, it's reputation and the number of years they have sailed and ships that they have. From the very start we were treated like Royalty. Being picked up at the ...

Good and bad, mostly good. Good = a clean, quiet ship; every meal began on time; meal servers efficient, attentive -- ready with coffee refresher, ready with a second glass of wine or beer; meal portions sensible; food tasty, nicely presented; breakfast buffet variety of items (cereals, eggs, omelets, sausage, fruit, croissants, jams/jellies, OJ, grapefruit juice, coffee, tea, butter, honey, ...

We did the Danube cruise with the Prague extension. A few thoughts: 1. Unlike other reviewers, we found the food to be good - - not gourmet restaurant but we never had a bad meal and the staff did all they could to accomodate you. A few people on the ship were Vegan and complained about their choices. For the most part the wine included with the meal was good. 2. Cabin was fine - it's on the ...
