New Cruise - Hiccups along the way

Review for a Europe - River Cruise Cruise on Viking Kadlin

This was our third time River Cruising with Viking. And things got off to a rocky start with an estate room that smelled like sewer gas and the crew not doing anything to remedy the problem. The shore excursions seemed stretched at times like they had no idea how to fill the time. And then when they had a good excursion they rushed the groups and failed to factor in shopping or just walking ...

Viking Corporate almost ruined trip

Viking pre and post was awful! The corporate office can’t get worse. The air booking was totally a mess with 2 hour hold times every time you call to fix their mess. No one answered the phone (except agents wanting to sell a cruise) when I tried to call and get clarifications regarding COVID testing etc. No one answered when I called to find the boat after they sent us the wrong address to board ...

Not As Good As Advertised

This was my 1st Viking cruise but my 9th cruise overall (including 1 prior river cruise). As a retirement present, my wife & I decided to break open the piggy bank for an upscale vacation in France. Viking's commercials are very enticing, but the actual experience was somewhat disappointing. Overall, we had a good time in France, but based on previous cruises I expected more. Let's start with some ...

Though there was a good choice of tours, there was too much packed into the day. There was no time to browse. The Normandy day was long and not enough time at the museum if any..which is a shame because it was why we came. There was more time at the English Museum. The guide was very hard to understand. The Giverny tour was very good. The tour of Notre Dame was too short with no time to browse and ...

We wanted to see World War II beaches/memorials primarily; also, spend 3 days in Paris prior to cruise. We like the convenience of unpacking once with good food and wine available. However, we were surprised and somewhat disappointed that we spent as much time on buses to excursions and that itinerary seemed a bit confused, i.e., we went to Monet's Garden one day then the next drove by it ...

Didn't feel Viking lived up to its "hype"

Review for a Europe - River Cruise Cruise on Viking Kadlin

In 2016, some friends and I enjoyed a Seine River Cruise that included the Normandy Beaches. That cruise was with Mayflower Tours and was aboard the Amadeus, chartered from Lueftner Cruises. No sooner did we disembark the ship than I swore I would definitely return. And I did just that this past June...sailing on a similar Normandy Beaches cruise but this time with Viking River Cruises. BIG ...

Does not dock in Paris; service was tremendous

Note: You don’t dock anywhere near Paris. If you want Paris than you need to book another cruise line, not Viking. This is review of the Viking Ships, Rinda, Rolf and Kadlin as they all do the same route on different days. We were on the Kadlin departure on June 24, the boat embarks from Le Pecq, not Paris. Day one Arrival: very smooth. Meet the Viking reps wearing red jackets right outside ...
