This was our second Viking River Cruise and we enjoyed it even more than the first one. We had a great shore experience at each of the stops and an even better onboard experience.
The crew was attentive and professional, the food was first rate, and the cabins were amazingly spacious. Viking knows how to do this.
We spent much more time on the ship than during our Rhine River cruise ...
Every one I know who had experience with Viking enjoyed their cruise. Once aboard, I understood why. From the steward (dining room server) who took our bags to our cabin to the activity director, we felt that our enjoyment was critically important. I got the distinct feeling that procedures on board had been tailored based on previous guests’ comments.
For a “foodie” like me, the dining ...
We did the Viking Rhine cruise a few years ago, and knew we wanted to do another. After the "unpleasantness" of 2020-2022, we booked this Danube cruise for 2023. We had high expectations given our Rhine experience. As they say, it did NOT disappoint. Viking River ships are all of the same design, so it was all very familiar, which is a plus. The crew from stem to stern was exceptional. the ...
Had never visited the interior of Europe. Viking provides an excellent way to see the wonderful landscape and scenic splendor. The Danube river winds through much of Europes rich history. The bridges that cross it, starting in Budapest, are magnificent. It is hard to imagine that these cities were treasured prizes of so many conquerers. The cruise ended in Passau which is a charming town that ...
We had previously taken a Viking Rhine River Cruise and enjoyed it so much that we wanted to do the Danube Waltz cruise with them. We started with their Prague pre-excursion package and stayed at the Prague Marriott hotel. The hotel was conveniently located near the Old Town, with many shops and restaurants. The breakfast was excellent. We did Viking's Prague walking tour, the Prague Night ...
Our recent trip with Viking was 3 years in the making. The original tro was 2020, but COVID delayed the trip to this year. It was worth the wait.
The itinerary was a trip of a lifetime, traveling 5 countries and visiting 4 world capitals, a geographic dream. The sites and history have us a greater understanding of the people and where they’ve been over the centuries.
Of course, this wasn’t ...
Just returned from a great Danube Waltz cruise - BUD-Passau on the Ingvi. We had the included air. Did not use Air+ and had excellent flights (ATL-FRA-BUD and MUC-ATL). Layover in FRA less than 2 hours was plenty to go through immigration and get to next flight. Several Viking greeters met us and about 10 minutes later were on bus with 8 others to boat. Cruise Director Suzy hopped on bus, ...
This cruise was on our bucket list.
We loved that it's a small ship with a fabulous crew and no children under the age of 18.
They kept everything going like clock work. Always concerned about us being comfortable.
The cabins are comfortable and love that the bathroom floors where heated since it was colder than expected. Our cabin steward Eva was wonderful. She kept the room clean ...
We chose this cruise because of the itinerary - my heritage is Slavic/Hungarian, and going to Bratislava and Budapest was a draw. We are also musicians, so going to places with such rich musical history was a plus. The timing of the trip fit our schedule; the free air-fare pushed it over the top.
We loved the city tours, particularly the walking tours. I like to take great photos, and ...
Part of the charm of a Viking river cruise is the interaction with other passengers. Ship size and configuration creates a more intimate environment. In such an environment, Viking has a responsibility for the safety of its passengers when a communicable disease occurs on board. Viking failed in their responsibility to safeguard their passengers when Viking did not inform us that a passenger was ...
Thank you, csmoise, for sharing your experience with us. Your kind words about our onboard staff, particularly towards the individuals who stood out to you, are truly a testament to their...
