Being a runner who has logged over 35,000 miles, many years ago recognized that I had damaged my inner ear which causes me to easily experience vertigo. Never thought I would take a cruise for this reason. Then my wife talked me into trying a river cruise. So glad she did but so sad we waited so long to experience the Viking Experience. Never felt any vertigo on the ship regardless of it being ...

A great cruise, an excellent river cruise company, we have taken six cruises with Viking, all in Europe since 2010. The food on the cruise was very good, breakfasts and lunches were buffets or you may order off the menu which changes daily. Dinners were had a gourmet flavor and themes from the cruising regions were presented daily. Lots of choices, the wine flows freely at lunch and dinner ...

After talking about doing a River cruise for years, we finally chose the Cities of Light tour, from Prague to Paris. While neither of us had really thought about seeing Germany, we both wanted to see Prague. Viking provided such a lovely itinerary, that I feel as though we really saw the heart of Germany. The crew was fantastic, from attitude to general knowledge. The tours were very ...

We did the 7 day river cruise with 2 days on the Front end in Paris then Trier to Nuremberg and 4 days on the back end in Prague. Viking was outstanding and had staff in place to support us from our arrival at the airport in Paris until our departure at the airport in Prague. You will not be bored. The bus tour in Paris was great. You have time on your own to do what you want as well but ...

Went on the Cities of Light river cruise. From beginning to end, the staff, especially the program director, Stephanie, took amazing care of us. Stephanie was with us from the time we got to the Prague Hilton, at every excursion, and saw us off in Paris. Even witnessed the captain unloading/loading bags, cleaning the walkways, etc.-something you never see on an ocean cruise. All local guides and ...

We had friends use Viking and loved it, so my sister and I took the City of Lights tour to celebrate her retirement. The staff,food,entertainment.. all of it was first rate. We have re-booked for another cruise, this time on the smaller ocean boat. The extra excursions must be requested quickly as they book up very fast once your onboard. The tour guides are exclusive to Viking as are the buses ...

My wife and I plus another couple planned and booked this trip 18 months in advance. We booked our own flights and transfers as we are very familiar with doing it and it is much cheaper to do so (about half). We stayed in Prague an additional 2 nights and booked that ourselves as well. We were able to get he same hotel and keep our room all 4 nights. We loved Prague, it is an amazing city. Paris, ...

My husband and I took the 12 day Cities of Light cruise starting in Prague and ending in Paris. We started our vacation by spending two additional days in Prague. We were travelling with friends, another couple from Michigan. Prague was a fantastic city. We had no trouble getting around, the hotel, the Hilton Prague, was very nice, the people in the Czech Republic were very friendly and they all ...

We booked this cruise, airlines, and travel about a year in advance! The airline connections were a complete cattle run. Thought we were going to get killed the way the driver took us to our dump of a hotel. Pullman Paris Eiffel Tower; between the broken fixtures in ...

Overall Opinion: Considering all the points below, we will stay away from Viking and use other means to see Europe. For the prices they charge for their cruises, you can travel in first class on Canard's or other luxury cruise lines for the same or lower costs. Value ($) The cost of our 15 day river cruise was just under $17k. This is equal or more per day to the top tier luxury cruise ...
