We chose the Rhine River cruise to celebrate our 25 th anniversary after spending the previous 2 months in Italy. 4 days prior to departure I received an email stating the ship had a broken propellor and that we would be bused to Breisach the day 2 port in Germany and not from our departure port of Basel, Switzerland. Traveled from Basil to Amsterdam, via Rhine. Unfortunately, the river was to shallow to pass and we were moved to another Viking ship on the other side of low section. The transfer was done very efficiently however it did interrupt some of the sightseeing. Unfortunately, what should have been a great Rhine cruise was marred for over half the passengers on the Viking Hlin. Within two days of boarding the ship over 60 out of 188 passengers came down with gastroenteritis.
