Veranda Stateroom (AX) Cabin Reviews

Good cabin. Good layout. Efficient use of space. Didn't use the balcony very much. Location of cabin was very convenient for morning coffee and the dining room.

The bed was very comfortable. There was always plenty of bottled water for us. The fridge worked just fine. There was always plenty of hot water for showers.

The cabins on this boat was much smaller compared to the ones of the longship. The bathroom was extremely tiny and you could only have one person in the bathroom at a time. We didn't mind the tiny space but the exhaust fumes in this room were horrible. Several times we had to leave the room because the odor was so strong and at night the fumes would wake us up. We had a balcony but like on the rivers in Europe you could not use it when you were in the main cities such as St Petersburg and Moscow because you were always tied up with other ships. This was upsetting to us as I specifically mentioned this problem when I booked the room and was told it wasn't as issue in Russia...WRONG. Read Less

Spotlessly clean, thanks to Irina. Shower is quite small, but good quality fittings, towels and toiletries - which were always replaced and plentiful. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash and body lotion. We did read previous reviews about the walls being thin and being able to hear the adjoining cabin and this is true. As we were in an end cabin we only had one adjoining wall. Took earplugs just in case but they weren’t needed. Doubt anything can be done about this. Our verandah was a great little spot while cruising to enjoy the sun, view and peace. There was a blanket in our wardrobe to use there when it was a bit chilly. Yes, the cabin is quite small, but plenty of room under the bed for luggage and plenty of wardrobe and cupboard space. Just remember, you don’t spend a lot of time in your cabin. Read Less

It had everything we wanted and it was comfortable. The best part was the location which was next top the panoramic bar. Our balcony allowed us to open the door and walk the entire perimeter of the bow of the ship. The only detraction was that Viking had to double up on the docking of its ships in Moscow and St. Petersburg, so, if you were on the side where another ship was docked, it blocked the view of the river and we had to close the curtains because the view was another ship right in front of us. It lasted two days in both cities. Read Less

Well appointed comfortable cabin. A highlight was constant water pressure in the shower. The walls were not as soundproof as we would have liked and the drapes were a bit thin for the 24 hour daylight.
