We chose this cruise expecting an experience commensurate with TV and brochure hype.
Big mistake. Instead we experienced tandem docking with no river views. We expected leisurely dinners with regional French cuisine. Big mistake, the dining experience was a big disappointment and food quality was not so good. The food service at dinner was rushed and noisy.

We lost the expected afternoon in Avignon because Viking forgot it was Bastille Day and they had to move the ship north of some locks early in the day. While they offered a bus ride an hour back, it only offered 1 hour in Avignon versus a full afternoon until an evening departure.
