As a repeat cruiser on Viking, I was disappointed to find that low water levels on the Danube significantly changed almost every aspect of the cruise. We were notified that we could not cruise to the last two ports only 2 days before our departure and then found out when we got there that the ship could not even be at the embarkation point. It was a week of multi hour bus rides and required a ...
Thank you, oenophile75010, for sharing your Viking experience with the cruising community and allowing us this opportunity to respond. We are thrilled that you found our crew to be...
My mom really wanted to go on a Viking Cruise, and she found this deal in April. We had a fabulous time together! We loved every minute and experience from this cruise. All of the staff on our ship were incredible and paid such attention to detail. The room was small, but bigger than we expected from what we had heard. The ships rooms were nicely appointed. Our port stops were fun and interesting. ...
Viking river cruise provides a well organized adventure! A romantic getaway... Found a deal on a Facebook ad that almost seemed too good to be true... but it was real.. and easy to book .. all documents came in a timely and organized manner. Great communication pre cruise on what to bring and we had an awesome time. Traveling to Europe the flights were perfect and met at the airport with safe ...
River cruising is much more of a relaxed time than cruising on the huge ocean ships. It's easy to navigate the boat and it takes a fraction of the time to get around on the boat. The trade-off is that there is no pool, gym, auditorium, specialty dining rooms, huge buffet, and fewer items to choose from on the menus.
All ports were equally good. All tour guides were natives who spoke ...
My friends urged me to travel with them despite my seasick history because their previous trip through France was terrific. They were correct! I didn't lose a minute on this extraordinary vacation.
We enjoyed our trip to China with Grand Circle in May, 2007 but the Three Gorges river cruise component was ruined by my seasickness for days and put me off any cruise, even on a river. Live and ...
We have sailed many ocean cruises, but this was our first river cruise. We liked the idea of being able to see multiple cities in Central Europe while unpacking only once. Overall, the cruise was OK - not sure it is a great value for the price paid, but it did deliver us to some great destinations.
Booking - Difficult. Viking likes to have you "call for a quote" rather than just telling you ...
What a wonderful way to explore Europe! The ship, the views, the food, the care, and the ports were all great. It allowed us to have a comfortable overview of Germany, Austria, and Hungary, with a view toward coming back some day and seeing even more of our favorite spots. My wife has some special food requirements and they easily and discretely took care of them. We had excellent tour guides all ...
We chose this based on a recommendation from a friend. We also wanted to see these countries, but work out of one base.
We cannot praise this experience with Viking enough! All the employees we encountered were "over-the-top" in their area; from housekeeping, restaurant employees, tour & transportation guides....all the way to captain, these people worked to make your trip perfect! One ...
Fantastic service, food, and accommodations. Very organized both on board and on shore. Included tours were enjoyable and informative. The Hoorn homestead visit was great. We did some optionals: Haarlem, Agriport, Open Air Museum, Brussels. All were worthwhile. My only complaint with the optionals is that it wasn't entirely clear when we were signing up ahead of time that some conflicted with the ...
My wife Nancy and myself have been cruising very actively during the past decade... the problem being that we've had to deal with a dwindling selection of exotic and historic ports as time has passed. We do not want to give up the cruising lifestyle and saw the accessibility of river cruises to ports we;d yet to discover an interesting alternative.... so we decided to give "Viking" a try. I'm ...
