Not for people with disabilities: I recently completed a cruise of the Rhône Valley. I found the ship and experiences to be very difficult for people with mobility issues. What is more shocking is that there are no handicap accessible cabins. The shower is incredibly small and has no grab bar. additionally, there are free excursions offered every day but the vast majority on my cruise were not ...

Our tour director referred to our trip as the cruise from hell, so i am not exaggerating. The customer service aspects of how Viking dealt with a catastrophic A/C failure on its ship during a heatwave was telling. First deny the problem, than deflect the blame for the problem, then distract the passengers from the problem. Fixing the problem should have come first. An apology and acknowledgement ...

On our way to the airport on May 5 we received an email from Viking River Cruises telling us that because of rising water levels, our ship, the Delling, would not be able cruise. Having had a wonderful cruise on the Seine (Paris-North-Paris) we looked forward to the Portraits of Southern France. The Viking dock site in Chalon is not a beautiful but we enjoyed the walks away from the ship. We were surprised when we were told that we were having to hurry along to get to Lyon because we needed to pass through the locks before May 1 closures due to May Day. Since May Day ...

With all the hype of the Viking River Cruise line, I expected more from the cruise. While it was relaxing, and very scenic, there wasn’t much to do on board. No exercise room, just a small walking path on the upper deck and that was not accessible for almost 3 days as it had to be closed to go under the bridges. Not to mention nowhere in their advertisement did they mentioned that we had to go ...
