We have been in ocean cruise many times, on different ships and companies. This was our first river cruise, and our first one with Viking. Everything went extremely well. The service, location, attention, all top notch.
The experience of a smaller ship, to get to know people, even get to know some of the crew, which were fun people to be with.
Loved the attention to detail. The excursions ...
We chose this cruise because we wanted to try out a river cruise and wanted to return to Paris and visit the south of France, so this was perfect.
I didn't have any expectations but if I had, this would have exceeded them all. The cabins were spacious and very comfortable. We loved having the balcony and being able to sit outside and watch the countryside so by. It was especially fun when going ...
Our second river tour with Viking. Service, attention to detail, willingness to accommodate wishes. Can’t wait for our third.
A shout out to our trip planner and Viking air. They spent a lot of time on the phone back and forth to get us the flights most likely not to cancel. Even though the times were not exactly what we wanted, the three planes over and two back were on time and with no ...
We wanted to try a river cruise (my wife gets seasick) and anyone who we spoke to who had taken a Viking cruise had good things to say about them. This particular cruise was in an area we wanted to visit and fit into the schedule of two other couples who accompanied us. The cruise, its personnel, the food, the accommodations were first-rate.
The tours, both the free included ones and the ...
The Delling itinerary Rhone/Lyon to Avignon is amazing, although the first 2 nights you are not moving just in Lyon but that is fine as the locks and river scenery gets old pretty quickly. Also not enough rockers etc and folks tend to hog them, so it was great to have a balcony and watch the people go by. Each port was great, and each four escort was great, Suzie the mistress of ceremonies was ...
despite the cold and rain and even snow we loved every minute. The guys weren’t Collageable and fun, the food was great as usual, we met great people, and the destinations were wonderful, most of them places we had never been, and some we had never even heard of. The Paris extension was wonderful too, but I didn’t love the hotel by the Eiffel tower, because there were no closets or drawers or any ...
This was our 2nd Viking cruise, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Viking always impresses with the number of free and optional shore excursions, learning and cultural experiences. We really feel like we get our money's worth for an 8-day cruise.
The food was very good; one or two meals were so-so, but the rest were memorable. I really enjoy the European breakfast buffet and cook-to-order breakfast ...
Referral from a friend who have cruised previously on Viking. A review of the other available cruise lines. We were well cared for from embarkation through disembarkation. Staff was attentive to our needs. The wait staff was fabulous! They were friendly, funny and engaged with the guests. Tour directors were courteous, helpful and knowledgeable. River cruising was great fun! The ship travelled ...
I was very interested in the ports of call on this cruise. Many people still were not traveling so there were no crowds and all shore excursions were a delight. I especially enjoyed Lyon. Our local guide was excellent, even introducing us to the best candy shop and treating us to a sample. The walk of the Old City of Lyon was the highlight of my experience. The small passageways throughout the ...
Beautiful part of France.
A wine tasting excursion In Beaujolais country. The Nouveau Beaujolais uncorked when we were visiting.
Year of Van Gogh and there was a wonderful day long excursion immersing in Van Gogh’s days in Arles.
A variety of affordable excursions were offered at each stop, including one included excursion at no additional cost. The three included excursions I took ...
