The cabin was typical Viking: small, clean and very efficient use of space. French balcony cabins are quite adequate for an early season cruise. Floor to ceiling windows provide a great view. Our friends across the hall had a balcony but it was too cold to use it. Beyla is one of Viking's very small ships, carrying a maximum of 98 passengers. It has one fewer deck than the normal longships. As a result, a cabin in the lower deck might be OK too. More of the cabin is above water so the portholes are much larger than what is found in a lower deck cabin on a Viking 200 passenger longship. Our room was modern, spacious and well appointed. A cozy duvet covered a very comfortable bed mattress. Views from our balcony were terrific.

When we booked I was told we were the last cabin available, and happened to be the least expensive D. It was quite adequate in space, new ship, well appointed. A pleasure to see wall plugs either for 120 V or 240V. Very adequate bathroom and shower. Bed and linens very comfortable. Roomy enough that we did not feel limited, after all you don't spend that much time in the room. The ship remained docked all the time, and some folks had to look out the window at essentially a "dump site", so much for the extra French balcony $$$. A cruiseless cruise it was! Read Less
