Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Costa Mediterranea

So this was the first time we've sailed on Costa so we went in with fairly low expectations (Due to other reviews, the sinking of Concordia and crash of Classica) and we only paid £210 for the week. But they exceeded expectations and were better than some other cruise lines we've been on. We've sailed Princess, HAL, RCI, NCL, CMV, Carnival and MSC. This Costa ship and experience was ...

Hi, We are an English couple, 60 years of age who have just completed our first Costa cruise. This was on Costa Mediterranea, 7 days down the Dalmatian coast in late April 2016. To put our comments in context I should add that we have previously cruised with Cunard, MSC, Princess and Celebrity. If you have experience of different cruise lines you will know that each has its own individual ...

We spent two weeks with Uniworld on the Danube from Vienna to Bucharest with an extension to Istanbul. We are repeat cruisers with Uniworld and were once again delighted with the service and the experience. Inclusion of tours at each stop and most drinks on board, along with the wonderful service by the dedicated River Duchess team and terrific food made it most memorable. Our cabin was small, but ...

We enjoyed this trip very much. Viking had not disappointed us from river cruises to ocean cruises. The ship is tastefully decorated, so beautiful and so much innovated. The activities on board were very interesting, especially the lectures which enrich our knowledge. The service is also excellent. The staff are not only friendly but also attentive to details. My spouse had a special diet ...

Princess changed our port days and times, which in Istanbul, turkey on their highest holy day of the year. Naturally, this found business closed and limited available shore excursions. No explanations given to passengers on why this was done. We felt the shore excursion office was awful! Rude staff, misdirections given . In turkey on our shore excursion booked thru princess, I was one of ...

There a number of things that disappointed us in regards to this last cruise with Uniworld First they never told we needed to call Austria Airlines and Air Canada for seat reservations. United did not understand our confirmation numbers for our flight and after some discussion we were give the necessary numbers to call for seat reservations. Itinerary invoice given to us told us we had a ...

We had looked forward to the cruise departing from Vienna on the 7th September 2014 what we found was a catalogue of disappointments Buffets awful, the food was basic and always Luke warm, the waiters were none existent and never came to see if you required drinks. The first night as we were tired so decided to eat in the buffet in the evening as we were on second sitting but when we got there ...

My wife and I hadn't cruised for many years and had spent our vacations at different destinations in the Caribbean. This year we decided to try something different. We choose Princess Cruise Line, the Regal Princess was doing the Mediterranean. We boarded on Sept 23 in Venice (my wife luggage was lost and never found until our return home). We disembarked in Barcelona on Oct 6. The Princess staff ...

Good - but not great

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Celebrity Silhouette

User Avatar

This was our first cruise. We had picked Celebrity because it was the upper end of the market and therefore the quality was likely to be higher. This should have been a faultless experience, but it really wasn't. Arriving at the embarkation dock, we were given a ticket with a 'Y' written on it. I asked how long before we would get to the desk and told 25 minutes. After an hour, i queried it, and ...
