I travelled on P&O for first time and selected the ship Ventura.
This was my first mistake, the ship has no wow factor like I've experienced with other brands.
My biggest mistake was choosing P&O as their staff in Bars and Restaurants simply don't seem to care.
1) ordered wine with dinner, it turned up whilst I was eating my desert.
2) I asked to order a drink at a bar. It Was ...
Beware of the spa! 2 treatments booked and paid for before joining the ship. During one treatment, the assistant said one aspect had been booked but I could have all 3 if I wished. No additional price was mentioned. Before leaving they apologised and said they'd made an error by adding the whole cost to my onboard account when I'd prepaid, and they'd need to reset my account, and needed a ...
Have recently returned from P&O cruise on Ventura to Canary Islands Having been on this ship twice before, and having cruised with P&O for the last 10 years, there has been a marked decline in standards. There is less staff in all areas and they were less experienced.
The buffet was disorganised, no trays for carrying food which posed a safety issue while carrying hot plates. Tables left ...
Having only been on one cruise before (Royal Caribbean), we chose P&O this time round because several friends and family had recommended them, and we hoped there would be a lot fewer kids on board compared to our RC experience.
We were actually really surprised at how low quality the P&O product was in comparison.
The food was, at best, mediocre. Dinners at the Freedom Dining restaurants ...
I don’t know where to start! I shall endeavor to keep this review as short as possible.
I suspect that P&O are desperately trying to recoup some of their losses caused by the Covid-19 pandemic and hence I believe they have downgraded the whole cruising experience in order to save money. Key points as below, not in any particular order:
1. There is no afternoon tea in any of the main dining ...
Firstly, let me preface this by saying we are seasoned P&O cruisers. Our party consists of a multi-generational family with ages ranging from 27 to 83. Cruising has been our go to holiday of choice for several years now. We had booked this cruise over 3 years ago but thanks to the pandemic it had been cancelled and changed 3 times before we eventually got on board. Suffice to say, we were very ...
The cruise was very late setting off from Southampton. After passengers had been on the ship for more than 3 hours, all those who travelled by coach from Liverpool were ordered to go to a location immediately. It was later rumoured that a passenger on that coach had tested positive for Covid and the Liverpool passengers were ordered to collect their belongings and disembark. This was after they ...
This was a last minute cruise booking because we had to cancel our earlier booking on Azura due to having to care for my mum. We have been cruising now for 4 years, my wife loves it. This is the third cruise with P 0 Cruises and second on Ventura. I have to say despite this bad review the staff and crew were always courteous and polite - could not fault that.
Our issue started when we arrived ...
We have been with NCl and Royal Carribean before. This itinerary worked for us and just trying something new. So Disappointing. The positives first.
Embarkation was easy and well organised.
Cabin L224 inside was fine.
Staff were very nice.
Nightly entertainment was good .
Plenty of outside space and sunbeds.
Food was seriously poor. The mdr was terrible and the 4 times we were at ...
This was the second time that we’d cruised on this ship. Standards have certainly dropped. Firstly the good points. Embarkation at Southampton was excellent and totally stress free. The cabin was ready as soon as we walked onboard and our room was very good. The ship has recently been upgraded and is very nice. Our cabin attendant was also very good throughout our holiday. Entertainment was also ...
