"So while we had a few hiccups along the way, we love Windstar, her crew and the folks that come along for the ride and can't wait for our next adventure in New Zealand in 2024!There were a lot of new faces in the crew and a few from our past cruises who did recognize us which is always so nice...."Read More

1-10 of 14 Windstar Wind Surf Cruise Reviews for Senior to Europe from Venice
My husband and I have traveled a lot, but never cruised. We weren't interested in large ships, so our first cruise was on the Wind Surf in May, 2023, Italy and Croatia. In spite of very bad luck with the weather, we loved the experience and are already planning our next Windstar trip. The ship is older and shows signs of wear if you look for it, but that didn't bother us a bit...we loved the ...
We have been trying to sail the Classic Dalmatia and the Croatia Coast itinerary since COVID and I'm so happy our dreams finally came true! We have been lucky to sail on Windstar on a previous 6 cruises so it was like coming home!
This time around we booked Cabin 146 (this was our 3rd attempt at this specific itinerary). We typically sail aft so I wasn't very excited about being so far forward ...
celebrating our 20th anniversary on Windsurf seemed the perfect present to each other. We can honestly say all our wishes and desires were exceeded. Wonderful crew, but especially Erickson, Eric, Maricelo, Charlie, who all looked after our creature comforts to the highest standards, and Hasan, who kept our stateroom immaculate every day.
The food was wonderful, whether in a French-style formal ...
We have sailed on all of the Windstar ships at least once and some more than once and this was one of the worst sailing experiences we encountered on any cruise line including Princess, NCL, Carnival, or Royal Caribbean. The deck crew was there but almost non-existent. When able to get their attention, they were curt/rude. Tables at breakfast most days were left un-cleaned while guest stood ...
My husband and I chose this cruise as we were more interested in the destinations it sailed to than the onboard amenities. This was our first cruise and it exceeded all of our expectations. The staff was wonderful, they couldn’t do enough for us. The ship was beautiful, especially during the times the sails were up. The food was out of this world. It was the best we had during our entire European ...
WindStar WindSurf, booked 5/18, Dalmatian Coast and Italy. Terrific itinerary and lousy cruise. Staff was earnest at best and let's call it unresponsive at worst. Lack of planning at embarcations usually led to chaos. By all means, do not purchase any of the excursions; as on so many cruises, these are considerably overpriced. On our trip, they were, well, rip-offs. Incompetent or ...
I have always loved Venice and my dream was to leave Venice by a sailing ship. We chose the May 17 th date because we wanted to sail out in the early evening when the light of Venice is what you see in the magical paintings. . We were so fortunate because we had the perfect evening, clear, warm with a red sunset. Needless to say it could not have been more perfect. The reflections in the water ...
Up until this cruise, I would have said that the best cruise I ever took was in French Polynesia on the Paul Gauguin, back when that ship was part of the Regents Seven Seas line. This cruise, however (from Venice to Rome, with stops in Croatia, Montenegro, Sicily and the Amalfi coast), may well have topped that one. This cruise was not inexpensive, but you definitely get what you pay for. ...
My husband and I embarked on our Venice to Rome cruise last fall with high expectations. As third time guests of Windstar, we felt we knew what to expect and were prepared for an enjoyable cruise. The ship itself was well appointed and we were very pleased with the beautiful accommodations.
But what Windstar failed to disclose when we booked our cruise (almost a year out) was that our sailing was ...
We loved almost everything about the Wind Surf and we would recommend it to anyone who does not suffer a food allergy or intolerance. But for the celiac passenger in particular we strongly recommend looking elsewhere for a cruise. If you don't have allergies or intolerances you will love the casual atmosphere, the friendly crew members, and the fabulous water activities at the back of the boat. ...
