As far as the food was concerned, I felt I was back at a camp cafeteria even though I always ate in one of their dining rooms. It is a shame that their menus far out did the quality of food. Even the 'special' dining was bad news in the quality of food. I had paid extra for 'Priority Boarding'. There was none provided!! One particular day, I had to line up 2 hours just to disembark from the ...
Chose the ship to revisit the Mediterranean. Big mistake. Hair in the food on embarkation lunch. Hair in the food in the main dining room. Ship is very old with tattered carpet and chairs in the theater. If this is a refurbished ship, it needs to be retired. Boring cruise, Director with little to no interaction with us on the ship. Entertainment venues were mediocre at best. One night they just ...
The itinerary had port day each day visiting 7 different countries and 2 islands. A little overwhelming at first as I thought I would wear myself out. But surprisingly I never really got tired despite doing something everyday. I enjoyed most of the ports. Some were underwhelming. One port I would point out is that Venice was miserable. Local laws force the cruise ships to anchor at least 5 miles ...
We were attracted to this cruise because of the itinerary. Our cabin , 107**, was very good and so was the service provided by our cabin steward. The overall food quality was fair at best and the beef was consistently tough and chewy, even in the specialty restaurants. The service in the main dining restaurants, especially The Versailles Restaurant , was exceptionally poor to the extent that we ...
Very smooth experience priority boarding in terminal.
I had booked two suites and the Aurea experience, so we had a nice check in.
It ended there as there was a long queue and wait for the tender.
Apparently, the boat was late arriving and therefore late disembarking.
These things happen but we weren't informed and had to sit freezing on the tender for over two hours and felt very ...
This was first Viking Ocean cruise (have done the river cruises). Visiting 6 countries in two weeks in leisure.
Pre-tour through Como was really worth it.
The suite was just perfect and made the trip every more comfortable.
The food was super. The restaurants were great and were actually under utilized. The Ship should make more efforts to get the passengers to enjoy the amazing array ...
We have sailed on Viking 4 times and had a wonderful time. The excursions are fabulous on Viking and if you don't want to spend on an excursion in every port, they include one for free! The only con to Viking is the lack of entertainment. We don't expect big broadway shows on these small ships, but some more upbeat, popular music and maybe a comedian or some such would be better. We love the spa ...
The size of the ship, and the 18 and older. I felt very very special the entire cruise. The food, the cleanliness, service. It was spectacular. The cruise was so great we booked another before leaving the cruise. This time we will be going to Alaska. The excursions that are offered are very nice. But staying on the ship and enjoying the pool and hot tub was very relaxing. We also had massages and ...
We chose Viking based on recommendations as well the fit to our desires. We don't need a casino or a big Vegas show. We didn't want a party boat or to be surrounded by kids. We did want a high level of luxury dining and service and we wanted excursions and guest lectures to explore and learn.
We purchased and enjoyed many of the optional excursions. One area Viking could improve is in ...
We chose this cruise for the itinerary and dates. The small cruise ship exceeded our expectations. It was not a full cruise, so we never waited in line for anything. The balcony room was a decent size with adequate storage for 2 people. The bathroom had a separate shower and toilet, which was nice. We used most of the facilities, including the gym. The dining facilities were always available. I ...
