This was our first Viking cruise: Venice to Barcelona. The Viking Star is a gorgeous ship, clean, beautifully furnished and kept up. I was consistently impressed by how nice it was, with comfort as a key component of the ship's design and decor. The cabin was roomy and comfortable to hang out in, and the balcony was great. How wonderful to wake up each morning in a different amazing port! ...
First time on Viking and now I have no choice but to only use them. Have cruised on three other lines but once you go Viking it sets a standard that can't be matched. The ship, rooms, staff, food, drinks, etc., etc. are such a step above anyone else we have been with.
It seemed like everyone of the staff knew are first names within 24 hours on being on board. I was especially impressed with ...
We chose this cruise because of the range of countries, ports and variety of excursions offered. We loved Croatia, a country we might never otherwise have seen. Corfu was beautifully exotic. In Naples we toured Herculaneum rather than Pompeii and were surprised how immersive the tour was, being able to walk through the buildings and get up close to the frescoes, even walking on the original ...
Viking Star was the second cruise out of a 4 cruise itinerary. I wasn’t sure it would be our style but we loved it from the first moment on board. We felt so loved and welcomed. The entire crew and staff were visible all the time with a cool towel and drink after returning from side tours. The food was very good but not as good as QM2. Room service was great! Explorer Lounge was our spot for after ...
Our first cruise we decided to choose Viking. Smaller ships, less likely to have children and more people our own age. We are not explorers so we wanted to choose the best atmosphere for us. Viking gave us great options. Excursions to choose from were awesome. We enjoyed everyone of them. Free and the ones we had to pay for. I would recommend investigating and researching ahead of time as there ...
We were looking for a special way to celebrate our 35th anniversary and decided on the Viking Mediterranean Odyssey. Neither of us had ever been to Europe and it had always been a dream of mine. We had heard so much good about Viking that we decided to go for it! Had a rough start-flight was cancelled and arrived late missing Venice...but that wasn't on Viking. Once on board, it was all good! ...
Viking cruises are for adults who want to learn something about the places they visit and don't want to be "nickel and dimed" for every little extra.
Embarkation and disembarkation were quick and smooth. With only about 900 passengers, you're never fighting crowds.
The service was exceptional on this ship, with very happy crew members. The ports were a good variety of Mediterranean stops. ...
Began with 2 pre cruise days in Venice and finished with two extra days in Barcelona. The whole experience was terrific. From meeting our cabin steward on day one right though to saying our goodbyes as we left the ship.
Viking have a great product. The ships are spacious and stylish. There are plenty of places to eat on board and no formal dressing up, though you can if you want. The staff are ...
From the moment we stepped into the ship until we arrived at the airport, it was top notch service. We ate at the restaurants and buffet. The buffet food compared to any to restaurant on other cruise lines. The atmosphere on board was excellent, no crowds or loud partying. Elegant parties with excellent food and drink. Excursions were well guided, knowledgeable and entertaining. We had trouble ...
Highly rated and many other satisfied customers. Found it all to be true. Ship was amazing, everything was thought out and crew was always attentive and prepared. Staterooms were clean, well appointed and plenty of room. Food on the ship was excellent - plenty of selection and variety, regional dishes served, service was outstanding. Manfredi's (Italian restaurant on ship) was our favorite place ...
