This was to be our 25 year wedding anniversary trip in 2020. Then COVID happened so Viking rescheduled twice and we delayed another year to be back to as close to “normal” no masks or daily testing, as possible. We had a wonderful time. Over the delays we upgraded our room each time so we’re blessed to have Jr suite. It was so nice and comfortable. Our room stewards were fantastic. Having ...

Excellent Journey to Italy

I chose this cruise because going to Italy was on my "bucket list" and being of Italian descent, I wanted to see this beautiful country. The Italian Sojourn itinerary allowed me to visit several areas of interest in a short period of time. I was unaware that this was the second leg of a 3-week journey and the third leg, which ends in Barcelona, also visits additional ports in Italy. Had I ...

We have been on 3 Viking River Cruises and they were fabulous. I had so hoped Viking could recreate this magic on their ocean cruises. I have to say I was slightly disappointed. On the river cruises Viking has thought of every detail, but this does not always translate to the ocean experience. For example, we had 150 people arrive at a small town at the same time. With 4 buses it would have ...

This cruise was going to places I was very much wanting to visit. The overall experience was excellent. One issue I have is that I called Viking multiple times to ask about Covid vaccine requirement and was told absolutely we must be vaccinated, it is also on their website. We spent a total of 12 hours driving back and forth to get a NON MRNA vaccine from the company Novavax. When we arrived ...

This was our second Viking cruise, but our first Viking Ocean cruise. We have also gone on several cruises on larger ships with other companies. We certainly enjoy the smaller Viking ships. This itinerary was perfect for us, starting in Venice, with stops in Split, Dubrovnik, Kotor, Corfu, and Olympia, before ending in Athens. Each stop was unique with interesting, informative, and well-organized ...

Cruise dates were at a good time of the year for us. Cruise included stops at desirable locations. Our friends were complimentary on the quality of Viking Cruises. The ship was a perfect size. The dining was very nice and consistent. The service was excellent. The stateroom/ cabin was perfect for us. It had plenty space for us and for all our belongings. It was clean and bright. The king ...

We have cruised over 25 times on various small ship cruise lines. Have river cruised with Viking 3 times and wanted to try their new ocean ships. We were very happy with the Viking Star. It has beautiful public spaces, we were always able to find a spot by the pool and the outside decks. Poolside service was a little slow. Our Explorer Suite was perfect. Love being on the back of the ship ...

We had gone on the Rhine River Cruise in 2017 and were so impressed with Viking - the food, the excursions, the staff and accommodations - we knew we would travel with Viking again. Italy and Greece were two destinations on my bucket list so when we found the Emperors of the Mediterranean we know that was the cruise we needed to book next. The ship was beautiful, the options and the ...

Great way to see Italy

My wife and I wanted to see Italy and this cruise seemed like the perfect fit. It allowed my wife and I to travel from Venice to Rome with several stops in between. We purchased some optional excursions that were truly great, but most the the included excursions were a little unstructured for our liking. Previous experience from an excellent Viking River cruise left us with an expectation that ...

I had never been to Italy or any of the othwr countries we visited. Our precruise stay in Lake Como and Verona was such a pleasure. Our guide was lovely in every way. As well as knowledgeable and spoke English very well. All our food was fabulous. On board the Star we were taken care of royally. Meals were great and service outstanding. If I had to find something to complain about it would be ...
