"Europe was on my husband's bucket list but I was reluctant to go, having been as a teenager. When I saw the brochure from Viking about their new ocean ship and the ports in their Mediterranean Odyssey cruise, I knew..."Read More

We chose this cruise because of it's itinerary. On the cruise, we could visit cities in five countries along the Adriatic and Aegean Seas. We were disappointed when we could not get into Koper, Slovenia and Viking did not offer any compensation. We did take the pre-cruise excursion in Tuscany and it might have been our favorite part. Beautiful villa accommodation and wonderful tours and ...

Previous Viking cruise was great so we tried them again, and once again it was great. From Venice to Athens with stops in Split, Kotar, Dubrovhik and Corfu before reaching Athens. Included shore excursions were excellent and the optional ones were well worth the cost. The effeiciency of the crew in handling embarking and disembarking is top notch. The dining options are all excellent and the ...

I had cruised the maiden voyage of the Viking Star in 2015 and was excited to sail on her again, with this Venice-Athens cruise. The ship is amazing, the crew is superb, the dining choices excellent, and guides are great. The Penthouse Veranda cabin is roomy and well-appointed. The ports and excursions are handled well, allowing time for exploring the wonders of the regions visited. ...

We have traveled with Viking on the rivers many times and knew that the ocean experience would be as wonderful. We spent three days exploring Venice prior to the beginning of the cruise - it's truly a wonderful city to get lost in! The Hilton Hotel on Giudecca (Viking's choice for pre-trip stays) proved to be very convenient, and the Viking Star was docked directly across the canal from the ...

Viking offered the best itinerary in a small cruise ship that offered high quality amenities. From the balcony of the cabin to the spa, our experience was excellent. We had the ability to take the included tour to acquaint ourselves with the ports of call, and then wander around amazingly historical areas on our own. The optional tours we chose were excellent, and we usually ended our day in ...

Viking cruise was recommended by family members who had traveled on Viking through China. Toured wonderful ports of Venice, Pula and Dubrovnik Croatia; Kator, Montenegro, Santorini and Athens, Greece; Kusadasi and Istanbul Turkey with provided tour guides. We enjoyed delicious food at all the variety of venues. We ate two outstanding meals at the Manfredi's restaurant; we still talk about the ...

We chose this cruise to revisit Venice and then tour the Dalmatian coast, Greece and Turkey. The only disappointment was a bombing in Istanbul which prohibited us visiting there but Viking did its best to fill in with another wonderful port of call and did their level best to secure our new travel plans home and assure our safety. All ports of call were fabulous as was the ship. The cabins ...

My wife and I had an excellent experience with Viking River Cruise several years ago visiting Russia. When Viking announced that there would be an Ocean cruise, we immediately book our passage long before the Viking Star was even built, trusting the quality of the Viking brand. we were not disappointed, The ship was absolutely stunning, the cabin was first class in every aspect, including ...

My wife and I have always wanted to visit the Balkan region and we had traveled on Viking River Cruises before so we wanted to experience their Ocean/Sea itineraries and the larger vessels. The ship was magnificent! As far as cruise ships are concerned, we really liked the fact that Viking ships are smaller in comparison than other ocean type vessels. Only 930 passengers. Perfect for what we ...

The Viking Star is a perfect option for adults who want a relaxing time without children, especially those interested in a luxury, small ship, and those who prefer a classy vs. glitzy cruise experience. The staff was wonderful, the common areas quaint but luxurious, and the food was excellent. Disembarking and re-boarding on the ship each day was handled expertly and smoothly. There were no ...
