Seven Seas Mariner has gone downhill

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Seven Seas Mariner

This was our 6th cruise with Regent Seven Seas and it may well be the last. What was once a high end luxurious cruising experience has now been diminished to cost cutting. The service, the cuisine, the excursions are all sub-par now. For example, although most regular excursions are "free" we wanted a more memorable experience and so paid over $600 a person for the "Private View of the ...

We are long time Regent cruisers and do enjoy our trips. We have always enjoyed the excellent service and food. This year there was an obvious problem with the service. The current staff was wonderful and worked very hard but they needed more help. Some examples We had breakfast every morning in Veranda. We ordered cappuccino every day and it never was delivered until we had finished ...

I am a solo traveler, by choice, and when I saw that Regent was offering a 25% single supplement, I called my wonderful travel agency and inquired. I also learned that there were discounted business/1st class air accommodations if I wanted to pay for the upgrade. I did and was very pleased that I did. Flights were smooth, pickup in Venice, Italy was simple. Off to the ship. Spent about an ...

Underwhelmed

This was our seventh cruise, having previously sailed with Celebrity, Azamara and Seabourn. I liked the layout of the ship and thought the food in all of the restaurants was of a very high standard and could not be faulted. Service however was patchy and we often had to go up to the bar and ask for a drink as there did not seem to be enough waiting staff in the pool area or horizons lounge. ...

Our cabin was spacious, the bathrooms and closets are good size. The route was fantastic with enough stop time at each port to explorer and have a good time. The ship is old and need some renovation it is however in a good shape but no WOW factors. Most of the carpet is old, stained and need to be replaced. The complimentary washers and dryers was a nice touch. Temperature is kept very cold in ...

Seven Seas Mariner, Venice to Monte Carlo

I would like to be one to praise Seven Seas Regent on the service and effort that they provided on our cruise from Venice to Monte Carlo departing on August 27, 2012. It seems that so many posts that I read are focused on the negative. If you have never sailed on Regent I urge you to keep an open mind. My husband and I were very impressed with the service, and dining on our recent ...

BACKGROUND: We were first time cruisers with Regent Seven Seas Mariner. We booked because of friends who had told us about the cruise line and we were not disappointed. From the booking with Justine Workman of the cruise line who helped us with the reservations and shore excursions to answering any questions we had right up to date of departure. She was terrific and always promptly responsive. ...

Trip of a Lifetime!

My husband was always reluctant to cruise....so we picked a smaller ship with great amenities. Halfway through he said, "this is GOOD STUFF! Why haven't we done this sooner?" Regent went above and beyond on every aspect. The food was delicious, the staff friendly and professional. We were blown away by the incredible service! Just a few examples: 1. Greek taxis were on strike ...
