Disappointing

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Nautica

We decided to add the cruise at the end of a land holiday in Italy and after 3 days in Venice. Check-in was very slow. No food or water was offered on a hot day. Not sure why staggered check-in times were required when all passengers were in the terminal at the same time when check-in opened. Our cabin in the middle of the ship was very nice. Champagne on ice in our cabin was a nice touch. ...

Very rough start and sailing, but in the end but in the end excellent

We were on what was actually the first ten days of a thirty day cruise. We embarked in Venice . We arrived in Venice three nights early on our own (infinitely cheaper than letting Oceania arrange it). There are two cruise terminals in Venice, Martima and San Basilio. We hoped that the ship would be at Maritima since this would be close to our hotel (the excellent Hotel Moresco), but our cruise ...

Nautica is one of 8 identical ships built for Rennaissance cruise line. Azamara have 3 and Oceania have 4. They are small enough to get into ports which larger ships cannot and therefor have better itineraries. the weather on this cruise had several days of rough weather resulting in missing the first port which was changed to Naples. We did back to back cruises and the weather improved as we ...

Terrible time on this ship and you should stay away!

We decided on taking our first cruise and for sure this is the LAST one and for sure the LAST one on Oceania Nautica. Room was tight and two people cannot move in it. Food is TERRIBLE and it seems they rotate the same ingredients over and over again. All seafood served is farmed and not wild caught. WAY too much hidden sodium in all the food, evidenced by the fact that we work up continuously ...

Elegant ship, great itinerary, disappointing food

Nautica was an elegant ship, nice layout, super easy/fast embarkation and debarkation. We love Oceania’s relaxed attitude on alcohol – we brought a bottle or two on from multiple ports, and got jokes about how heavy our bag was, with the wine handed back to us. The 2-for-1 daily happy hour is straightforward, and a nice way to take advantage of pre-dinner drinks in a lounge. Itinerary & ...

History, History History

We had never been to the Adriatic and a small ship seemed the best way to go. Having been on Oceania the year before, we knew that the food would be amazing and we certainly weren't disappointed. The itinerary was excellent with more to see than we could possibly fit into 10 days. The sense of history is incredible. Highly recommend Venice, Ancona, Dubrovnik and Kotor if you have never been ...

Enjoyed a wonderful 10 days aboard Nautica. Could not find fault with any aspect of the ship. Cabins clean and very comfortable, food in all the restaurants was great, although Polo was a bit of a disappointment on our final night. The Grand Dining Room was worth a visit every night, and was every bit as good as either Toscana or Polo. The latter two pride themselves on requiring a higher standard ...

Background Over the years we had fallen in love with the idea of cruising, and had initially decided on other cruise lines (Silversea, Crystal) but eventually settled on Oceania because we liked the idea of "Country Club casual" and felt that the mid-size ship was about right for us. We also wanted a chance to do some dancing (ballroom and latin) and the O ships seemed to have the biggest ...

Venice to Rome on Nautica with a few bumps along the way

This was our 15th cruise and our first time on Oceania. We felt we were ready to get away from the "bigger is better" cruise ships and lines and we were generally pleased with the Oceania experience. The Nautica is a well maintained ship that was recently dry docked for refurbishment. All new teak wood throughout the exterior spaces with new chairs as well. The only area of the ship that looked ...

This cruise was picked by our folks to celebrate their 60th plus wedding anniversary. They have cruised over 25 times and they wanted to show us (3 "kids" & spouses) the old world. The Eastern Med in October is right at the end of the season (for tourists in this region) and the weather isn't blazing. Oceania handled the air arrangements as we all came from various parts of the US. We flew ...
