We arrived in Venice 2 days before our cruise which left on the 20th april, we caught the local ferry to the cruise terminal which was easy and cheap. Getting off the ferry was easy, finding the signs to where we had to go was another thing, but we found it no help was at hand a simple booth showing you were to go would be so simple. Heading up the escalators with our luggage only to be turned away and sent back outside with 30 other people who thought they might miss out it they didn't push, at last luggage off loaded then the walk back and wait to board.
We were shown to our cabin which was lovely with its balcony and we are so glad we had that. We walked around the ship to get our bearings which was quite easy, by the time we came back our luggage was outside the cabin.
Breakfast:Most days we had the buffet which had enough of a choice, but seating was limited most days and the noise well, so we had breakfast in the restaurant which was much more civilized, but alas the waiters were not very friendly, you felt like a number not a person.
Lunch: we had the buffet most days or when on excursions we ate at the local restaurants.
Dinner: we had the early sitting, we asked for a large table so we could meet other people, but we were put on a table of four which turned out to be great as they came from the same state. Our dinner waiters were great and very friendly. We learned halfway through the cruise you ask for iced water and that was free instead of buying bottled water also it was cheaper to buy a bottle of wine because if you didn't finish it it could be taken with you.
Entertainment: Nothing startling, the shows were very similar every night. but to get a good seat I suggest you sit on the top level just near the stage great view.
Excursions: We only took two as the price is quite expensive and as the couple we were sitting with found out we had no trouble getting around on shore and saw as much as they did for half the price and sometimes at no cost.Bari we gave it a miss, Corfu, Santorini,Mykonos Piraeus & Katakolon they were all so friendly and helpful love every minute Santorini was beautiful and the views sitting at a wine bar took your breath away,we had a waiter talk to us for about 20 mins. Dubrovnik was so clean and lovely to walk around. Outside the city across from where you catch the bus is the best pizza ever and cheap 7 adults all had pizza and drinks was only 45 euros.
The ship was clean and we had a great time, but charging for water and not being able to make tea and coffee in your rooms. Get used to a lot of noise around the pool area everybody seems to yell, the only quite spot we found was on our balcony as did the people in the cabins beside us did. Children in the gaming area at night even though they weren't supposed to be,you certainly need to learn the art of pushing and personal space well never. We found it easier to use the stairs because using the lifts if you could get in nobody waits there turn.
We met some great new friends from all over the world but we be trying another cruise line next time.Suggest they get a new photographer as we ended up with no photos, we asked for a photo of the four of us only to be told no, just couples we only found two photos even though our photos were taken numerous times throughout the cruise. Evening wear well I don't no why we bothered no body seemed to get dressed up, jeans for a formal night....nobody cared
All in all the ship its self was lovely as with our cabin, staff over worked and a form to sign the gratuities over to the staff that really do serve and look after you, we had to write a letter to change but getting that done wasn't easy you need patience for everything onboard or learn to yell and be rude.
