We were guided by our Cruise company to book this one as it fitted the dates and they said it was a good itinerary and lovely ship.
The departure city, Venice is breath taking and it is worth spending time having a look around or booking an extra night before or after, but be careful where you stay as lugging suitcases around Venice over bridges is not easy.
The Ship, looked nice until you ...
We choose this cruise due to travel dates and destinations.
However if I’d known the minimal standard of this ship I would of seemed alternative options.
On embarking it was chaos it clearly states on boarding papers that it commences at 11.30am. However didn’t get on board till 2.30pm. No crew took charge provided any updates.
On board it clearly states where smoking is allowed and ...
From the beginning things were terrible. Our cruise cards were not correct. We had the drink package and they put it on the card wrong. So we had to go the guest services to correct all three cabins cards. Then you have to wait in line to activate your card with a credit card. Why not do this at embarkation like other cruise lines. Cabin bed was not put together like on reservation. Another ...
We chose this cruise because of the itinerary, embarking in Venice and sailing through the Suez Canal, disembarking in Durban Sth Africa.
There was a long 7 days at sea and unlike other cruises we have been on, there were very few interesting activities to keep the passengers occupied. They seemed to think everyone would just want to lay by the swimming pool, which many of the European ...
Departure from Venice Italy. Food is awful the breakfast is terrible. Egg cold hard and forget the benedictine egg. The diner is not good also. The fish terrible and the steak very bad. I did 8 cruise before and I talked to many people on the ship and they was all agree with me the food is very bad. The service at the restaurant is awful. The server bring the food to me and the two people at the ...
This was our 2nd time on MSC and the first was bad. So why did we go again? The destinations....
Embarkation - This was too many people in too small an area being "assisted" by too few staff. I am disabled, and both myself and my wife (who also has a stick to help walking) were left in a long queue for nearly half an hour before we even got into the cruise terminal. This soured even the start ...
We choose this cruise due to the locations it stopped in and in honesty the affordable price , but I suppose the truth is you get what you paid for.
The ship was mostly full of Italians and Germans, English speakers were very much the minority and although that is not a total handicap I personally believe the ship is very much set up to accomodate the needs of its biggest customer group which ...
This 1 week cruise from Venice had a good itinerary. We booked a suite because the price was low and included the liquor and soft drink packages. We had the Aurea package which included "many specialty restaurants", which turned out to be NONE!! Our only dinner choice was the buffet, which was an absolute ZOO with very insufficient seating or a nice smaller venue with a very limited menu and ...
I have been on a number of cruises covering a majority of cruise lines. The food was mundane. Buffets had the exact food day in and day out. Only thing that changed was the pasta dishes. Unlike other cruise lines, steak was not on the menu. If you wanted a steak it cost you $18 per person and the one night I decided to spend the money on one I had to send it back. If you were expecting ...
Good:
The ship was great, cabin very clean and very good food quality.
Nice excursions with qualified guides.
Good quality shows with very good artists
Bad:
Unpleasant dinning experience- too many people and not enough space at the tables. Every.single.day, 3 times per day. Poor water quality. For this reason we had to buy water on board.
Horrible service - very pushy ...
