We booked this cruise because of the ports and Jacques Pepin would be on board. We upgraded to a marvelous Owners suite--8th floor. I didn't like we were on the 8th floor at first, but once in suite, it was glorious and contrary to other reports, we got lots of sun on the balcony (we were in an oceania suite on prior cruise and never got sun...so it depends on how the ship is sailing). We chose this cruise as we were hoping to have a better cruise experience by going up a catagory. Did it live up to its hype. Not really. We were kept from our stateroom for hours as they said that they were deep cleaning the rooms due to the gastro virus. So when we finally were able to access our stateroom, it was dirty, dusty and the bathroom still had used shampoo bottles in the tub....deep ...

The public areas in the ship are beautiful. We particularly enjoyed the bar with the pianist (Mario, I think). All the dining rooms are beautiful. The dEcor in the rooms is beautiful.
