We decided to add the cruise at the end of a land holiday in Italy and after 3 days in Venice. Check-in was very slow. No food or water was offered on a hot day. We chose Windstar since they are a "luxury cruise line" and paid the price of a luxury cruise line and didn't receive that experience. The interior of the ship is dated and needs an update. We chose this cruise because we toured Rome, Florence, Tuscany and Venice prior to sailing. This cruise enabled us to see more of southern Italy and relax on the second half of the trip.
