Mediterranean and Italian Sojourn

Review for Viking Sky to Mediterranean

We chose this cruise because we wanted to return to Italy with a pre-extension in Tuscany. It cruised from Venice to Barcelona and had many wonderful shore excursions. The food and attention from the Viking staff was amazing. We also enjoyed the free spa experience using it whenever we could. The no extra cost specialty dining was very nice. We were able to eat at Manfredi’s, the Italian ...

We wanted to try a Mediterranean cruise after having a wonderful river cruise with Viking on the Danube in 2015. We originally had this trip scheduled for May of 2020, but we all know what happened to those plans. The ports of call on this trip in Italy, Croatia, Monaco, France and Spain were all interesting to us. Our only wish is that we had more time in each port to explore more. We ...

We wanted a no-hassle cruise to countries we have never been to and so needed some assistance with going to the best places. Viking makes everything so easy and stress-free that we could not have been more relaxed and just had to focus on enjoying our trip. Our steward was really nice and all of the dining staff were really great with dietary questions. You can tell they treat their employees ...

A Windstar cruise has always been on our radar and we were excited to finally book one. It did not disappoint! We booked 15 nights on back to back itineraries Venice to Barcelona and loved all of the ports. This was our first small cruiseline. We may never go back to large cruiseships again! The crew and dining were exceptional. We particularly enjoyed the specialty restaurants and the weekly BBQ ...

This was our first cruise and we had no idea what to expect. Traveling post-Covid lockdown did have a few challenges but Viking did a stellar job balancing passenger safety with an overall good experience. Our 7-day Mediterranean cruise was superb. We did not have any time in Venice, our embarkation point due to a port closure and had to be bussed 90 miles South to Ravenna to start our cruise. ...

Viking is a well established cruise line and takes good care of its loyal customers during the pandemic time. Clean cabins, good service, outstanding restaurants catering to a wide variety of tastes, among the highlights. We were tested every day to ensure our well being, as well as everyone else. Masks were mandatory while you were in a venue, but masks were not required when you were outside. ...

Down to the sea in a ship

Never having taken an ocean cruise, but plenty of Viking river cruises, this seemed like a good one with which to begin. We had never been to Italy, so that was a plus as were other stops on the itinerary. The trip was canceled three times due to COVID and we were ready for a bit of pampering in the Viking manner. The cabin was more than we had hoped for - palatial after the river boat ones. ...

Absolutely the best service of any cruise line we ever sailed

We wanted to see more of Europe after our 2015 trip to Italy. This cruise had most of the countries we wanted to visit. After comparing amenities on Viking we decided to take this cruise. After talking to people who had taken prior cruises we were sure we made the right decision. Everyone told us the service was top notch and they were not mistaken. From the minute we walked out of the ...

Best. Cruise. Ever.

I should put that into perspective. We are not well seasoned cruisers with 20+ cruises. This was our 8th cruise, with the 7 prior cruises on mass-market lines and on large (2000+ pax) ships. This was our first cruise on a small ship (<1000 pax) on a luxury cruise line. We'd been reading about Viking on CC and watching YT videos, so we had a sense of what to expect on the ship. However, ...

Wonderful to travel again

We chose this cruise due to the itinerary, and the cruise line due to having a wonderful experience on a Viking River cruise. The ocean cruise lived up to all expectations, and exceeded them. This was one of the first cruises of the season in that area, and the ship was only at 60 to 70% capacity of passengers. The crew was fantastic, service was top-notch, and all amenities were outstanding. ...
