Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on MSC Lirica

We choose this cruise to change our ideas of a very sad event; We love cruises and had already sailed on 3 cruises with Costa. We wanted to start from Venice and to discover Dubrovnik and Kotor. Too much remarks and findings to write them all : - 1 port Zakynthos cancelled due to bad weather and replaced by Bari : no problem for us but the excursions of Bari were advanced without ...

Nice but noisy!

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on MSC Lirica

The ship was decorated well and largely clean and comfortable. There was little reprieve from the noise of people (there were lots of groups talking loud languages), not as much space as other cruise liners we've been on, the entertainment was loud, there was music in almost every space we went in. We often retreated to our cabin for some peace, our teenager son often in there as the teen club ...

MSC in a nutshell

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on MSC Lirica

My family has taken about 20 plus cruises and MSC did a fairly great job in meeting our expectations. This was our first MSC cruise. I would say the highlight of this cruise was definitely the entertainment! the shows each night were elite! the dancers were exceptional. the pianist Antonio at the L’Atmosphere lounge was extremely talented. We ended up there every night. Edwin the waiter in the ...

The cruise ship is old and kinda dirty. The shore excursions were disorganized (the tenderboats were in late, you have to wait for the buses in 40°C no shade for sure). The staff at the pool bar didn't want to work, often just looked away, to avoid eyecontact, it was on their face that they HATE their job and hate the guests. The food selection is poor, especially at dinner (only vegetables? ...

First and last time ever

I recently embarked on an MSC Cruise "Lirica" with high hopes for an unforgettable family vacation. Unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired, tarnished by issues ranging from subpar food and outdated facilities to a distressing incident with my special needs son. While some crew members proved to be exceptional, others displayed rude behavior that soured the overall ...

Warning and apologies in advance for how ridiculously long this is going to be! Feel free to pass on by. :) My husband and I met our 23-year-old daughter in Venice (she lives in Germany) to embark on the NCL Star 7-day Greek Isles cruise August 18-25, 2019. Planned stops were Kotor (Montenegro), Corfu, Santorini, Mykonos, and Argostoli (all Greece), and Dubrovnik (Croatia). At check-in we found ...

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Seabourn Odyssey

After suffering two disastrous cruises with P&O over twenty years ago we vowed never to cruise again. However, having reached our fifties, we researched it again in a lot of detail, and we decided to give Seabourn a shot with a seven day Venice-Athens run on the Odyssey in early September. In short, though expensive, it was the best holiday we have ever had...and we have already booked up again ...

We are a family of 3, mom, dad and 9 year old son. Previously we have cruised on Carnival, Celebrity, Disney and Norwegian. Of those, the experiences on Carnival and Norwegian all but assured we won't be back. The RCL Vision 7 night Greek Island cruise made us solid fans of RCL and the Vision. On and off the ship went without a hitch especially since we only travel with carry on luggage. However ...

My daughter and son in law booked this cruise for me I travelled with them but in my own cabin. It was a way I could experience cruising as a solo traveller but with them to fall back on after losing my husband and lifelong partner of 47 years. The ship was really good it did not have single cabin lounge but they did have a group that met for a drink and I even went for a meal with them one ...

We chose Seabourn after reading reviews here, so we want to help others make their choices. This was only our fifth cruise, but first one on the Seabourn. After three weeks on this ship we will only travel with Seabourn in the future. Staff, food, service, suite, and public spaces were outstanding. Every request we made they answered with a smile and exceeded out expectations. When we dined ...
