Excited to be back in Venice and ready for our 7 night cruise, we caught the People Mover to the Dock. Not well signed but we found where to take our luggage (and were given No. 18 for embarkation) and then around the corner to the Embarkation area which was rather chaotic, but we had books to read which passed the time till we lined up yet again to embark quite late in the afternoon, ...

Fantastic Favolosa

This review is long overdue as we travelled in October, but here goes anyway. Hope someone finds it useful. I travelled in October half term with my mother and two children aged 9 and 6. After a somewhat traumatic start (9 hours in Venice port, 7 of which spent standing in queues for food not knowing where we would sleep that night) we eventually boarded the ship at 1am - about 8 hours later ...

Costa Favolosa. It takes you places

Compared to Royal Caribbean: it looks like there is less personnel per passenger, personnel at Costa looking harried and less friendly. 7206 Handicapped accessible. Food: buffet is bad, and pizza is awful. Enjoyed the (rare) olives and peppers. Fresh fruit: apples, melon, pineapple. How hard is to come by fresh fruit in the Mediterranean? And where is the gelato? The "desserts" at the ...

Autumn break holiday at the Costa Favolosa

Although not as stylish as Celebrity or Royal Caribbean, this cruise did pleasantly surprise us. Spacious public areas (a bit decorated over the top, but you get used to it), nice furniture, enough food varieties to choose from. Main dining room: gentle waiters, nice menu (no steaks!), delicious deserts!! We took the all inclusive drinking package (only bookable for all members of the party) ...

COSTA FAVOLOSA - BETTER THAN EXPECTED

My wife and I travelled on the Costa Favalosa out of Venice on 23 September 2012 and visited Bari, Katakolon, Izmir, Istanbul and Dubrovnik. We had a standard inside cabin on Deck 7. We initially chose this cruise because it fitted in with other plans we had in Europe. Having had read some of the previous reviews, we were concerned we had made a grave mistake, particularly in relation to the ...

Favolosa was great for my family (2 parents+2 teenagers) - we expected fun and relaxed vacation, and that's exactly what we got. Last time we went west mediterranean by MSC Fantasia, and we expected elegant, peacefull, international ship. Instead, Favolosa is full of noisy Italians, filled up with dance, fun and entertainment for everybody. The decoration is pap, and we missed MSC, but in a few ...

We've just come home from our first cruise ever - with Costa Favolosa - travelling the eastern Mediterranean for a week. We are a family from Denmark consisting of two adults and two children aged 16 and 12. We had read quite a few bad reviews on this inter net site before leaving for our holiday and were a little worried - but we had not needed to worry at all! We absolutely loved our ...

Cruising the Adriatic & Aegean

This was our first ever cruise and was part of a coach & cruise holiday with Leger. We embarked in Venice after driving to Italy with overnight stays in Belgium and Austria. The boarding process appeared to be a bit of a cattle market with people milling about all over the place although it was in fact fairly painless and after 30-45 minutes of joining several queues for passport and security ...

As Floridians who primarily sail the Caribbean with Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Princess and Celebrity we were initially a bit wary to book with Costa. In addition to the "issues" that Costa has had this year with two of their ships, we were wondering if we would be fish out of water on a ship where the primary language and culture is Italian. On both accounts we were very pleased that our ...

After reading the reviews on this website I was expecting the worse. This was my first ever cruise, but my partners 3rd or 4th, however we paid an absolute bargain price so we didn't mind all the bad reviews we had read, we knew we couldn't complain and still looked forward to it. We expected poor food and bad service... however we were totally surprised. Even my partner who had been on a ...
