We left Florida one day prior to the cruise since the ship was spending an overnight in Venice and I felt sure we would not miss it. We checked our bags in Orlando and they went through to Venice with no problems. I heard stories of luggage getting lost on flights to Italy but we were lucky it went without a glitch. It was cold and rainy in Venice and we didn't go out the first day. We were ...

My wife and I did the Venice to Barcelona cruise with 11 friends. We have cruised quite a bit and can make a valid comparison with other ships. What I will report will not be positive, so be prepared! In Venice we took the shuttle bus the ship provided at Piazza Roma. It was a short ride to the dock, but the bus left us off about 250 yards from the place where you check in. There was a lot of ...

Here is our 2 cents about our cruise on August 25th 2007. I am a 30 something housewife sailing with my 30 something hubby and our 4 year old daughter going from Venice to Barcelona. We booked our own air flying from SFO to London and stayed there a few days and then caught a cheap British Airways flight to Venice. Upon arrival, we took the bus to Venice and then bought a vaparetto pass for 72 ...

This was our second time cruising, and second with Celebrity. It was a wonderful cruise. My husband and I are 30-somethings. Flight and Embarkation: We had an air deviation and flew Delta from Seattle to Atlanta, and then Atlanta straight to Venice. No problems at all. Embarkation was easy and quick. We landed in Venice about 11:30AM and were on the ship by about 1:15pm. It was easy to find the ...

This is ridiculously long . . . tried to organize to allow you to pick the items of interest to you. Enjoy - we sure did! Overall - we loved our experience. However, I wouldn't say that we are HUGE cruising fans. Cruising isn't the only vacation we do and I wouldn't want to do it every vacation. But it does make sense for an itinerary like the Med and given the exchange rate, it was more ...

My wife and 12 year old have been on maybe ten cruises and my wife and I did this exact cruise in 2002 (sans child). In 2002, it was the best vacation we ever had, great people, food, ports and rather cheap with the euro 1 to 1. Not this time. Pound was over 2 to 1 and the euro was 1 to 1.50. The purpose of this trip was to introduce my son to the trials and rewards of travel. (vs. the Playstation ...

Overall cruise was fantastic and would repeat in a minute. Ship and its crew were great. As with many ships the public areas get worn and could use more frequent updating. I usually don't let this get to me. Embarkation in Venice was smooth and disembarkation in Barcelona was amazingly efficient. We were told to expect 30 to 45 minutes to disembark but found ourselves on the curb 15 minutes ...

My parents and I just got back from a 12-day Mediterranean cruise on the Celebrity Millennium and had an incredible experience that far exceeded our expectations. We flew in the day of the cruise (Continental Newark to Milan and Alitalia Milan to Venice) and went straight to the ship. Or at least tried to. When we boarded the plane in Milan we saw the cart with our three bags (and dozens of ...

Celebrity Millennium Nov 10-24, 2006 Review by Host Joe November 9, 2006- Pre-Cruise We flew in a day early to Venice. After arriving at the airport we took the Aliliguna Oro, from the docks near the airport, which are about a 5 minute walk away. This boat service was $25 Euro per person, and took us directly to San Marco. We were able to bring all of our luggage with us at no extra charge, ...
