Overall we had a wonderful time BUT only because we were together as a family. The cruise itself lacked a lot that we found with other cruises. Our dining waiter actually scolded our 20 year old daughter because she ordered a lemonade and he said he was too busy to get it.
He did later apologize but vibe was definitely ruined.

I sailed with Holland America and I advise everybody to go with a different cruise line. During my ten day cruise, I daily saw passengers filing out incident/claim forms at customer service onboard. Two of the people I talked to had things stolen from them, I had also chatted with a woman in the buffet who had her cell phone stolen.

Sailing date December 8, 2017 and December 22. Heard rumors of local authorities boarding the ship while docked in San Juan, Puerto Rico and searching some passengers cabins. I won't be going to San Juan anymore and will avoid cruises that do. I would rate the Veendam as average. I seemed to be a smaller ship than others I have been on.

We have been looking forward to this cruise for some time. At two weeks, it was the longest cruise we've been on. We had been on the Veendam about 7 years ago and liked it. This was our seventh cruise with HAL, second on the Veendam. Arrived at the terminal at 11am only to discover that the ship was delayed by some 7 hours because of dense fog.
