I found this trip as a special in January and booked it true HAL, I'm so glad I did it was amazing.
From the captain down the crew was outstanding, one of my best cruises yet.
Fun facts of the day were my highlights, captain and staff captain very friendly and eat meals in the Lido.

My wife and I booked this cruise due to its itinerary. However, it appears to us that HAL is relying on its past reputation with older cruise passengers and not putting much effort into providing a new shipboard experience. For example, the Canaletto and Pinnacle restaurant menus have not changed in at least 10 years.

This itinerary is amazing! We enjoyed many great ports, highlighted by Rio and the ports of the Amazon. It was a bucket list cruise for me.

The Amazon River has been on my "todo" list for a few decades. This cruise also went to Rio at Carnival time so that was an extra plus we didn't really plan for. But it was a great combination - the craziness of Rio at Carnival time followed by the Amazing Amazon River cruise up to Manaus.

This was a 48 day RT from Fort Lauderdale that included a few Caribbean isles, Brazil coastal ports including Rio at Carnaval and finally the Amazon to Manaus and back. We were lucky to have some of the best weather of the season with only one rough sea-night that unfortunately prevented us from going to the Falklands. The rest of the time, we had some strong winds, etc. but no rain and relatively calm seas so the scenery was spectacular. Embarkation in Buenos Aires was a bit chaotic as there were 3 large cruise ships in port that day. You needed to pay attention to which line-up you were in and who you should give your luggage to. This was my sixth cruise, from Buenos Aires to Santiago trough the freaking waters of Cape Horn, actually sea was mostly calm.
Embarking at BA took 2+ hours waiting, passengers of 3 ships had to pass migration controls, but finally got to our cabin and baggage was there.

This particular cruise was blessed with good weather--little rain, warm temperatures (66 F) and reasonable seas. Weather was so good, we actually made it to the Falklands.
