Cabin 033

Cabin seemed smaller than other Neptune Suites on other ships. Layout is awkward if you have the two-bed configuration. Bathroom is a god size; however, if you are taking a bath you cannot reach the shampoo and stuff as it is mounted high up on the wall near the shower head (a danger for an elderly person). Air Conditioning did not work very well. Verandah was nice and large.

Veendam staterooms are need of updating but this ship is undergoing a major renovation at the end of March. The bathroom has a tub which is not seen to frequently now a days. In putting our bags under the bed we realized that they would only go under one side so the size of the cabin is adequate but not made for more then two adults. Closets were fine but we did not like the fact that the safe required to be operated by using a credit card and since my wife and I use different cards this could cause a problem if she or I needed to use the safe and one of us were not there at the time. All is all the Veendam despite it age was fantastic and ranks up there with the luxury lines a 5 out of 5
