I am very very disappointed with the cruise to glacier Alaska , I only bought this cruise to see the glacier and we could not see ANYTHING.. All that I see was beautiful mountains that I see constantly because I live in Canada and we are surrounded by it , I was very excited for this cruise only to see the glacier that the pictures when we go to the royal Caribbean’s page to buy it shows .. the ...
Cruise was satisfactory, however the staff was inadequate and inexperienced. We were disappointed that there seemed to be no serious attempt at providing the social experience or entertainment experience that had been advertised and promised. We were continually told that the staff was short due to covid.
We were continually asked by the staff how we wanted something, food or service, then ...
We booked this cruise in March, right after cancelling a European cruise on Osterdam that was to leave June 1st. We were anxious about rising covid numbers and different protocols for the countries on the itinerary, not to mention flying Toronto to Barcelona and spending 2 days there before the cruise plus 2 days in Venice post cruise. There were just too many "what ifs". We had been to Alaska ...
We arrived home from our June 13-20 Cruise to Alaska on NCL Jewel yesterday. It's hot in Texas, so I thought it might cool me off to remember our cruise. Embarkation went pretty smoothly. Our time was 10:30, and after showing our NEG results, we were in line to get checked in. I will say, I did all of the Online Checking, but they did it all over again at check-in. Working harder, not smarter! We ...
This cruise was booked in 2019 and cancelled twice due to COVID restrictions with Canadian travel. However the wait was worthwhile as we had an AMAZING experience!
We arrived in Vancouver two days before departure, and princess had vans waiting to take us to the hotel we were staying in before embarkation (The Westin Bayshore, a fantastic hotel!)
Day-of, Princess took our luggage to the ...
We chose to cruise with Princess mostly because of the itinerary. After researching cruising to Alaska, we had heard so many times that Glacier Bay was a must see and it did not disappoint. It was absolutely beautiful and College Fjord was even almost as impressive. We also enjoyed the other ports of Ketchikan, Skagway and Juneau.
The Royal was very nicely decorated, not overly gaudy ...
We chose this cruise based on the land tour option (that option gets 2 stars, as it was a shoddy haphazard attempt to piece together a land tour that fell way short…I will write a separate review… but know this… Princess & Holland America have the land tour down pat!)
Now onto the Millenium review:
The good… food…. Excellent creative meal options..e.g., Poached Lobster Tail in a Champagne ...
Overall this was a positive cruising experience. This was my second time sailing on Disney Wonder, it does not look like a 20+ year old ship, the staff keep her up very well!
Dining: The food in the buffet was unacceptable in my opinion. The breakfast menu never changed, and the food they did have did was not appetizing. The breads and pastries were all stale and the eggs were rubbery. Skip the ...
Unfortunately we acquired Covid just 5 days into our 14 day cruise. The ship handled this professionally, compassionately, and efficiently. We were extremely well supported and cared for while in quarantine. While disappointing to get sick, they moved us to a balcony room on the 9th deck…beautiful views of the mountain fjords.
During our first 5 days, we had excellent service in the dining ...
We chose this cruise for the duration, 14days, and the ship. We wanted to cruise on a Royal Class ship to see if we liked it. This cruise also did Glacier Bay twice which was a big seller. We aren't big entertainment people. On a cruise we like to spend time together, time apart, and time just relaxing.
Embarkation would've been better if our TA had told us about the 2hr hold , otherwise was ...
