1-10 of 75 Vancouver Royal Caribbean Radiance of the Seas Cruise Reviews
This was our first cruise in over four years, post covid, of course and yes, things have changed. Because we live a few hours drive from Vancouver, this was an obvious port choice for us because it meant we didn't have to fly anywhere. We heard lots of horror stories on board of people whose flights had been cancelled/delayed, luggage lost, etc. and we were happy to have escaped that.
We ...
This was our careful return to cruising after a 3-year pandemic hiatus. While both fully vaccinated, we were determined to exercise prudence and avoid crowds. We used Westjet credits from cancelled flights and traveled from Toronto to Vancouver, with pre-cruise stay at the Exchange hotel, 3 blocks from the terminal. We were very satisfied with this property. Dinner was at the Cactus Club Café ...
We chose this cruise due to the departure port (Vancouver) for a quick getaway. Vancouver to LA (stops in Astoria, Santa Barbara, San Diego).
Weather in Vancouver was perfect for sail-away, and it's always great fun to leave under the Lion's Gate Bridge. The seas were like glass the entire cruise.
The ship seemed in great shape, and the crew was by far the friendliest of any large cruise ...
The food was very good particularly in the Windjammer. The cabin steward was responsive and attentive. The ship captain was pleasant and visible throughout the cruise. The itinerary was good with a variety of stops, but Hilo is mediocre and not very pleasant to visit. Homeless sleeping on the street during the day and trash barrels overflowing. The cruise director, Mr. Jones, obviously needed ...
From boarding in Vancouver to departure in Seward, our Alaska getaway was SPECTACULAR! The crew on Radiance provided service beyond expectations and made sure every guest had everything they needed and more. Our cabin steward, Rico, made sure we got a lighter blanket as the comforter was too thick and hot for us; brought ice and extra towels. He was there when we needed him, friendly and ...
Our family (two adults and two adult sons) were excited to be able to do this vacation to Alaska. We traveled all the way from Florida and were really looking forward to it. I knew the ship was an older, smaller version of the "Mega Ships" but really wanted to do this itinerary and didn't care much about the fanciness of the ship or all the extra stuff on board.
Room -4 stars: We booked two ...
This is our first time visiting Alaska. We also had a train/bus tour following the 7-day cruise. The ship was older, but clean and well managed. The service was good throughout the entire cruise. Ports of call were good. The train bus tour following the cruise was good as well. We had excellent motel accommodations on this leg of the journey. I have only one complaint. The boarding process was ...
I had read reviews about the ship being old and run down, so we boarded with low expectations. We found the ship to be in good shape, not sure why people complain. Most people say an Alaskan cruise isn't about the ship anyway. Our cabin was great. We loved the balcony and were surprised how often it was warm enough to be out enjoying the beautiful scenery. Bed was comfortable, couch a little worn, ...
Having done a back to back cruise last year on the Harmony of the Seas I can say without reservation the Radiance was a far more enjoyable experience for two experienced cruisers in their mid(ish) 60's that don't relish being around over 1,000 kids. We tried the "mega ship as the destination" thing and the" ship within a ship suite level" thing, and it left us wanting. A lot. Then a destination ...
