No pre-cruise contact by AQV. Booked 4/2023. Called early August to see if they were still cruising 9/3. Received boarding documents 2 weeks before cruise. That was all the pre-cruise information. Not our favorite cruise, yet, this week's expedition offered rest and beautiful country in Washington, Idaho, and Oregon. The staff bombarded us with picky details and scheduling, more than was necessary. The boat was noisy and the companionways too chilly. Not many places to retreat and read. The travel from Spokane and Embarkation process was very efficient. The stay at the Davenport hotel was the highlight of the trip. Cabins on board the Empress were adequate and the beds were comfortable. The cabins were clean, well appointed and good size for the length of the cruise. Wanted to revisit the NW and felt that this was an excellent way to do it. The staff was pleasant and knowledgeable. The food was plentiful, but mediocre in quality. Music in the lounge was so loud that it intruded into our cabin and despite 3 requests to have the volume lowered, nothing was changed.
