Oceania Alaskan Grandeur was perfect. Spoiled for other cruise lines!

This was my first cruise but definitely not my last. My husband and I picked this cruise in particular because it looked like it wouldn't have any small children running around, as it was after Labor Day and the target demographic seemed to be for those 40 and up. It worked- we were nearly the youngest couple on board. Everyone we spoke to was an Oceania regular or had come from one of the ...

The ship decor has a lot of character with beautiful furniture and mahogony walls and trim. Lovely marble and gorgeous rugs grace the whole ship. We enjoyed the peaceful spacious surroundings with not a lot of people around as opposed to ships with thousands of people. The food was outstanding as well as the service at the buffet and main dining room. Staff was always friendly, curteous and ...

Only a Couple of Glitches on an Otherwise Lovely Cruise

The Regatta is a beautiful, elegant ship. It was a wonderful and relaxing cruise. We took a 10 day cruise from Vancouver to Alaska to San Francisco. It was our first time on Oceania but we have hundreds of cruise days under our belt from other ships so have a good idea of what to expect. The food in the main dining room was the best cruise food we have ever tasted, wonderfully prepared and ...

Mid- luxury on small ship fabulous

We chose this ship because of the itinerary and small number of passengers. The staff, the dining, the communication during the trip, the cabin ( bed and linen) were all excellent. The shore excursions offered by the cruise line are expensive and if you are prepared to investigate tours yourself or walk down to the dock and take a chance on a tour, then they are at least 30% cheaper. The ...

Just got back from one of the finest cruises I have ever taken...and glanced at the prior reviews. Were they on the same ship because what I and others experienced was the exact opposite. In some 40 years of cursing the world from Regent to NCL my experience on the Regatta, hands down, was the finest I have experienced. Why: Boarding...Boarded about 2 pm in Vancouver.. no lines..just ...

Loved our Regatta Alaskan Cruise

This was our first real cruise (did the Disney 3-day cruise in 2001 with small children - fun but mayhem in the common areas of the ship). We were able to upgrade at the last minute to an Owner's Suite and it was luxurious. We had a butler and someone from housekeeping on call 24/7. Our 'kids' (ages 19 and 22) were in a Penthouse concierge suite and they had the same great service. We ate ...

We have been on the Regatta once before and really enjoyed it. We like the casual dinning and have found the food and service to be excellent. On this cruise, we thought that the food in the Terrace wasn't as good as our first cruise and the first few days the service wasn't up to what it was on our first Regatta cruise. The food and service in Toscano's and the Polo Grill were excellent. We also ...

Day 1: Embarkation at Vancouver Terminal Quick & Efficient. Only one problem one of my wife's bags was put on the Disney Alaska cruise not ours. Of course this was not discovered until after departure. Was reunited with bag at last port of call as this was only port common to both cruises. Day 2: Cruising the Inside Passage to Sitka. Very relaxing day and beautiful scenery. Food & service ...

12 nights in Alaska

(I should preface this by saying I booked all of our excursions independently. Oceania's excursions tended to be large (think 200-passenger boats for whale watching, and full-size bus tours), and the ones we took were much smaller, which was nice. A couple of the excursions I booked were offered by Oceania, but I booked directly through the vendor and saved some money.) JUNE 17-18 = ...
