Disorganised Cruise

Review for a Transpacific Cruise on Ruby Princess

We wanted to see Alaska and the rest of the Cruise was to be a relaxing experience as we had already done most of the remaining Ports. Our impressions of the staff on board (apart from the restaurant staff and room steward which were excellent), specifically at the Customer Desk and the Excursions Counter was that they were not interested in us or our issues, and it was almost as if when ...

Three night, not 31 night, repositioning cruise...

Review for a Pacific Coastal Cruise on Ruby Princess

This was a three night hop from Vancouver down to Los Angeles, an excellent way to pick up cruise credits en route to free laundry. :) The Ruby is not our favorite ship by a long shot. It’s small, and it feels small, despite her ability to carry so many people. When we got on board, I couldn’t believe the Horizon Court wasn’t a snack bar. What the heck? This was our second time embarking ...

First (Maybe Last?) 1 Night Cruise

After finding out that my husband planned to be out of town for the Mother's Day Weekend, I decided on a whim to book the very reasonably priced 1 day Pacific Coastal cruise from Vancouver to Seattle on the Ruby Princess. It would be a business trip, I thought to myself, because booking a cabin as a single would get me double credit towards becoming Elite on Princess. What a great idea! Because ...

Vancouver to Seattle 1 Day Cruise

We love doing this cruise every year - we take the train up to Vancouver, the ship down to Seattle - it is an awesome little overnight trip. Since it is only 1 night we take an inside cabin, although 1 year we DID book the mini-suite. We travel w/ 4 in the cabin for most cost effectiveness. It was a one night cruise so no big show - the lounges had nice shows - the service was great - the ...

Ruby Princess - One night cruise has a non-standard Princess vibe

Background Information Working toward Elite status on Princess - we had 10 prior to this. Cobbled together this cruise with the 3n Coral Princess LA to Vancouver into our own Pacific Coastal/Pacific Northwest vacation. Second time sailing on Ruby (1st time was in 2014) - this is the first Princess ship that we've repeated. Travel to Embarkation Port After disembarking Coral Princess, we ...

Poor Cruise Experience

Very poor experience overall. Starting it all off my baggage "lost" (sitting behind front desk), first customer service agent told me to come back at 6pm and didn't even check, this was at 4pm and we boarded in the morning mind you. The rest of my cabin mates received their luggage between 11a-1pm, and we all placed them in the same a truck. Went back at 5pm, a new customer service agent was there ...

We got on the ship in Hong Kong it was quick with on waiting our cabin was ready and the steward ready to greet us..It was only 5 nights round Vietnam and ending in Singapore but we really enjoyed it and found the staff helpful and polite with a warm greeting whenever they met you. The food was good both in the main dining room and on the top deck with a good sellection.we were on first sitting it ...

PRINCESS vs CELEBRITY

We sailed Ruby Princess from Vancouver, Canada to Los Angeles, CA port of San Pedro in October 2018. This was our first cruise with Princess. In the past, we exclusively cruised Celebrity Cruises Solstice ships. We decided to try a different brand and was told Princess was comparable. Well, after this cruise, we are running back to Celebrity. The food and customer service on Celebrity far exceeds ...

Not great thrills here

Let me preface by saying I've never sailed with Princess before and after my experience with them, I'm not in a hurry to sail with them again. Pre-cruise: You get spammed with info regarding when, where and how to board. GREAT, but you only need to send this info once, maybe twice. However not only did the send this info almost 6 to 7 times, a couple emails gave us false info that our ...

Rediscovered the joy of cruising

This was our first cruise in many years. We booked a Club Class Mini-Suite, just forward of mid-ship and loved it. It had just been refurbished with deep cleaning, new bathroom floor, and new wall-mounted large LED Flat Screen TVs. Queen bed is the new mattress and bedding. The room is spacious and very comfortable; we liked the subdivision of the room into living and sleeping areas. There is a ...
