Food was horrible, buffet courts were unorganized and questionable cleanlinesss

Review for a Pacific Coastal Cruise on Emerald Princess

Went on Pacific Coast tour in October and I couldn't believe how horrible the buffet food was on this trip. I admit this is my second cruise on Princess and most likely my last as the thought of being on a cruise for a long duration and having to eat horrid food with questionable sanitation at tables each time we eat there is not my idea of vacation. The food was bland, dry, and at times tasted ...

We took this cruise because my husband is wholly dependent on a walker due to his rehabilitating from two broken femurs (thighbones). It was convenient to where we live and didn't involve air travel. In addition, it was mostly sea days. It started off badly, with the wheelchair supervisor slamming the footrest down on my husband's shin while assisting him into the chair. He didn't apologize or ...

Princess... Not what they used to be

We had been looking forward to this cruise for several years. We were celebrating a significant anniversary and we had had a wonderful experience on a previous Princess cruise. The ship sailed from Vancouver to the Hawaiian islands and back. It was a 15 day cruise. The ship itself was clean but not maintained all that well. There were mysterious wet spots on the carpeting in some areas and ...

Princess is not what it once was.

This was our third cruise with Princess and we won't be back. Princess used to be a great cruise company but due to cutbacks in all areas and over commercialization of onboard activities it is no longer a great choice. A lot of the so called enrichment presentation were unabashed product promotions. Instead of a wonderful production show every evening we only had 2 in 7 days. Both were not of the ...

Perfect weather, great excursions, ace premium dining, otherwise dreary & trying

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Emerald Princess

First, the positives: (1) Excursions. Give in to the arch-tourist nature of packaged few-hour bus-herd excursions, go with the flow -- it's only for a few hours, cynic! -- and you'll get an effortless taste of what's fun, cool, interesting, and breathtaking about Alaska. Plenty of options with minimal tour-bus time -- see how rugged the land is from a floatplane, meet happy sled-pulling mutts, ...

Very disappointed in this cruise line.

I chose Princess on other people's recommendation, but I was not impressed and don't plan to use Princess again. I had been on two other cruises on Carnival and found them much more fun, well-planned, and friendly. First of all, our room was too hot and we had no way to control that. Then we asked a women at guest services about our excursion for the next day. She gave us completely erroneous ...

Terrible Check In / Poor Customer Service

Just wanted a nice weekend getaway. Arrived at time and place indicated on boarding paperwork. Extremely long walk to first boarding area to get a number to be called to the check in area which was in another part of the convention center. It was again another long walk. Once receiving your room key was directed out side and back towards the first room then down stair to a larger room. No ...

Worst cruise ever

We wanted to see Sitka, and it was wonderful. However, the excursion we were on couldn't go to one place that was advertised, because it is always closed on Mondays. We asked for, and received a partial refund. The telephone receptionist at the Lotus Spa was inept. The manicure was mediocre. She spent more time trying to sell me face cream than she did on the manicure. We went to dinner one ...

First time on Princess and never again

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Emerald Princess

We have traveled on both the Allure and Oasis of the Seas with RCI and Solstice and Millennium with Celebrity. Compared to them Princess is unfortunately a way way distant last. First and foremost the quality of the cooking in the main dining room and even the Crown Grill is poor at best and downright disappointing. They had excellent produce in the freshest seafood and quality meats and sadly ...
