Don't book Princess early

Review for Diamond Princess to Asia

We are seniors ; 15+ cruises with lots of time. The 22 night cruise left from Vancouver and went to Alaska, Korea, Japan & China. The ports were all new to us. We pre booked a few sightseeing tours - but it was easy with some prior research to arrange last minute tours on our own at the ports. Princess did a very good job of describing the ports (the night before)and arranged for buses to take us ...

This was our 2nd Princess cruise and we sailed on the Voyage of the Glaciers Alaska cruise in September 2013. While not a true "sister ship" to our previous cruise aboard Caribbean Princess, its layout and interior design was a very close match. Cabin - We stayed in a balcony cabin, A743, which is starboard aft, only the 2nd cabin in from the back door which leads to the aft pool and then up ...

Once in a lifetime trip.

We have always wanted to see the glaciers and the Alaskan wildlife. Seeing Alaska this way is the only way to do it. The ports are unremarkable, but the scenery is amazing. We had the best possible weather the week we went. We could go ten more times and not have as great a week as we did. This is a once in a lifetime experience. I don't know how people can do this cruise multiple times ...

A thoroughly enjoyable, as well as satisfying experience, on my FIRST

I booked this cruise through my favorite online site only 5 weeks in advance of our departure. Although the price I paid was a bit higher than I am used to, the $799pp fare, with $200pp in taxes, for a 14 night cruise to Alaska, was still fairly reasonable. (even though some on board paid close to HALF that fare!) The $500 of OBC did make it QUITE satisfying. ($250 for Retired Military and $250 ...

This cruise was our 2nd cruise to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. Our first cruise was 5 years ago on Royal Caribbean to the Caribbean. We went to Vancouver for 3 days prior to sailing to see the city. We took a day tour to Victoria and Butchart Gardens and we consider this the best thing we did on the entire vacation. We stayed at the Metropolitan in Vancouver. We arrived at the ...

It's funny but we have lived in Vancouver all our lives and this is the first cruise we have taken, go figure! Boarding in Vancouver was a breeze, once on board we were settled in our Stateroom and set out to find our way around, the Treasure hunt helped a great deal. The Princess Patter that arrived everyday was a great way for us to find out what was on for the sea days and also what to plan ...

Wonderful seven day cruise to Alaska

This was our third cruise experience, and our first with Princess. It proved to be our best cruise yet. Boarding Embarkation at Vancouver needs improvement. The terminal has very poor signage and no obvious assistance available to guide arriving passengers. The trick is to know that the first step is to turn your luggage over to the blue-coveralled attendants who meet you when you pull up. These ...

We cruised to Alaska on the Diamond Princess from Vancouver to Anchorage in late June 2013 with our two adult children. We booked the week before when we finally started thinking of a way to celebrate our 35th anniversary and found some fabulous cruise discounts. Embarkation: Much easier than our previous two cruises. We arrived at the Vancouver port at 11:00 a.m. and dropped off our luggage ...

We took this cruise May 25th and sailed 7 days We also took the land cruise afterwards. I enjoyed the land cruise more than the cruise so it was well worth the money. We had room D204 it had a fantastic balcony. There was laundry facilities on the same level, very convenient and easy to use. I really thought that the excursions were overpriced in Ketchican and Juneau. I think you could probably do ...

Great time in Alaska with my 4 year old

I recently went on the 7 day Diamond Princess northbound Alaska cruise, from Vancouver to Anchorage on Saturday, May 25, 2013. I had a wonderful time, as did my traveling companion, my 4 year old son. I used Princess Air, and unfortunately it was not a direct flight. Same for the trip home. Very long day, and I would book a direct flight next time.Arriving in Vancouver Airport, it was easy to get ...
