Perfect sized ship for Alaskan cruise

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Regatta

Food was excellent (nice choice and variety). Service has excellent (stateroom stewards were amazing!). Thoroughly enjoyed how close the ship got to Hubbard Glacier. Also enjoyed the other ports of call. The Naturalist on the cruise was also amazing. Saw dolphins, whales, and sea lions from the ship - cool! DID NOT LIKE WARD’S COVE. Oceania’s parent company, NCL, has their own dock, outside ...

Regent is our favourite cruise line and we chose this cruise to coincide with the celebration (a year late due to Covid) of our Golden Wedding Anniversary.Having flown into Calgary we stayed over before transferring to the Rimrock Hotel enjoying a day in the Banff national park before boarding the Rocky Mountaineer for a two day journey from Banff to Vancouver prior to our Alaskan cruise. ...

The cruise ship was in for routine maintenance and we were informed the day of embarkation that there was a strike in North Vancouver and the ship would be delayed until 1 PM. They then told us 4:PM. At 4 were told we could go to the terminal to check in, and proceeded to wait until 6:30 PM to check in. Once we arrived on the ship we were told it would not leave until 1:00 AM the next day. On the ...

Regent vs. Oceania

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Seven Seas Mariner

Here's how we would (and do) compare Regent to Oceania. The ship was lovely, our cabin was spacious, and the walk-in closet was more than sufficient. In addition, the service was very good, albeit not quite up to what we have come to expect on Oceania. The showroom and shows were every bit as good as Oceania. The entertainment director, Andy, was the best we have ever had and we met some really ...

RSSC Mariner is a little gem of the sea

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Seven Seas Mariner

We sailed on the Mariner twice in Alaska. I must admit I am a cruise writer and went on her to write a review. She was my sixth RSSC cruise and I've loved them all. Why? Because Regent has style. It's chic, but not pretentious. The dress code is comfortable chic and easy to abide by. Most of the food is exceptional. We always have found the service tops. Sure there hasn't been a lot of night ...

I'm relatively new to cruise travel -- prior to this one, I'd completed two cruises, both on another cruise line. I booked this primarily due to the itinerary -- it included both Alaska and the Panama Canal -- and the cost. The cruise was actually two separate cruise: a 10-day Alaska trip from Vancouver to San Francisco; and an 18-day cruise from San Franciso to Miami via the Panama Canal. As ...

We chose this cruise (west coast repositioning, Vancouver to LA) for the price and itinerary. We were very pleased, Seabourn delivered what they promised. The itinerary was Vancouver, Seattle (1 1/2 days), Portland (1 1/2 days), San Francisco (2 days), Monterey (1 day), Santa Barbara (1 day) San Pedro (debarkation port for LA). 11 days for $4,495 per person, tips and beverages ...

Artful Travelers changed this cruise from good to Great!

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Seven Seas Mariner

We chose this cruise because it meant a short flight to Vancouver and a limo home from San Francisco. Flying has become our least favorite part of traveling. Mariner is a beautiful ship even if she needs a facelift. We started cruising on her twelve years ago when she was a Radisson ship before becoming Regent, and later joining NCL. We enjoyed her in 2005 and still enjoy her now. We are ...

We chose this ship because of the itinerary and small number of passengers. The staff, the dining, the communication during the trip, the cabin ( bed and linen) were all excellent. The shore excursions offered by the cruise line are expensive and if you are prepared to investigate tours yourself or walk down to the dock and take a chance on a tour, then they are at least 30% cheaper. The ...
