We chose the 20 day repositioning cruise from Vancouver to Ft Lauderdale mainly for an opportunity to relax and be pampered..not as much for the ports of call en route. My husband has mobility issues and we didn’t expect to do many excursions ( I did 3 and he, 2). We welcomed days at sea.

Wanted to see Hawaii. Twice we requested wake up calls and did not receive.Holland web site advertises Dutch Cafe 16 Dutch and Belgium beers with 4 on tap. DID NOT HAVE. Met with beverage manager his answer was they were ordered but not sent. Hard to believe a company as big as CARNIVAL{who owns holland} can't get what they order covid is over.

We had an absolutely amazing, enriching and unforgettable time on the Nieuw Amsterdam. The Nieuw Amsterdam seems a little dated compared to the Koningsdam and other Pinnacle class ships. We were very pleased with our Verandah cabin and the MDR and Lido food was better than on a recent cruise on the Koningsdam. We have tried the specialty restaurants on past cruises but don't think it's worth the cost. The option to add extra $$ menu items in the MDR is not a bad idea! The BB King ...

My wife and I have cruised on many different lines and ships. This trip was our first with Holland America. The Nieuw Amsterdam is what I would call a moderate sized ship, especially when compared to the newer “mega ships”. We found the ship itself to be clean and for the most part, well run. We wanted something different and sailing on The Koningsdam certainly filled the bill.
From joining the ship in Vancouver, to disembarking there the following week, we had the most relaxing but fun filled time
