Review for a Hawaii Cruise on Celebrity Solstice

This was our first cruise on Celebrity, our other cruises were on Royal Caribbean. We arrived in Vancouver 2 days early to allow us some free time before the cruise. We went to the Capilano Suspension Bridge, and the Fly Over Canada. Both well worth the money. We stayed at the Days Inn, a couple of blocks from Canada Place. It was a very easy walk even with our luggage (one large roller, ...

embarkation a nightmare. There were 2 ships at the same terminal for checkin. confusion and unorganized. After dragging luggage thru terminal for 200 yards we thought we final reach the end of line. But no, a luggage handler said leave luggage by this door leading to garage and ship. He pointed and said go to elevator by a green door about 150 feet away thru 100s of other passengers. We went to ...

We board the Ruby in Vancouver Canada after she had been in dry dock for twelve days undergoing renovations. A beautiful ship. The first three days were Vancouver to LA and then 15 days to Hawaii for four days. The sea days were great as there so much to do and more activities than anyone could imagine. The staff were extra polite, professional and out of the many cruise we had had with ...

Review for a Australia & New Zealand Cruise on Noordam

At our friends' urging for us to try cruising, and not wanting a daily docking, we went all out with this 25 day, 10 port cruise. It took two days to get the gist of the routine, but by day three, we were hooked. HAL definitely met our expectations and pleasantly so. We knew the average age would be senior and often less mobile, but that was ok. This was our first retirement getaway and we were ...

First Time on Holland America; Definitely Not Last!

We have cruised just about every cruise line including some 5* rated lines. This was our first trip on Holland America. I was so impressed with the real concern and service given. We had a problem with the air conditioning and they came immediately to fix it and followed up with a call to ensure it was fixed. When it wasn't, they came again and came again, and followed up again and again until ...

Review for a Transpacific Cruise on Volendam

I am not a usual contributor to review forums but I am struggling to reconcile the wonderful cruise just experienced on Volendam with these recent negative reviews on Cruise Critic. A strong influence on the enjoyment of any cruise will be the availability, cheerfulness and helpfulness of the ship’s crew and on Volendam from Vancouver to Sydney I thought it was outstanding. The embarkation at ...

we did the 10 days from vancouver to Hawaii this fall. loved the 6 sea days. the staff on this ship are so attentive and personable. lots of fun activities. Steve the CD and Jeremy the AD were both a blast and planned a great trip for us. food was exceptional and the nightly shows were a good mix to make everyone happy. our favorite part was the sea days. just miles of blue water, sitting on deck, ...

Awesome trip on the Grand Princess

We sailed on the Grand Princess 15-day Hawaiian cruise out of Vancouver on March 22, 2015. This was our first sailing with Princess, but our 8th cruise overall. Because there were 5 of us, we had originally booked an inside cabin and an outside cabin with a window. However, two days before departure, our travel agent called to let us know that Princess had upgraded us to a family suite with ...

We chose this cruise as living in B.C we didn't have along journey to get to the dock..The thing that surprised us most was being able to learn to play the ukulele ,he was a great instructor and him and his wife gave great performances at night in the lounge. We have cruised many times to Hawaii,it being our favorite but this beat them all. Our captain Ronald Wilson was the best I think, very ...
