Still a lovely ship with a fantastic crew

Review for a Pacific Coastal Cruise on Crown Princess

We honeymooned on the Crown in 2007. Had a great time sailing from NYC to the Caribbean and back. That trip kick started our love of cruising. So this trip was a homecoming of sorts. How was it 16 years later? While the ship has obviously aged and shows some wear here and there, overall it seems to be actually improved. The tech added throughout the ship is brilliant. The medallions worked ...

I choose this cruise because it was easy access for my sister and myself as we live in Vancouver. I have cruised a lot but only once before with Princess to Alaska. I normally use Celebrity. First of all the good. I cant say enough about the friendliness of the ship crew and staff. 5 stars I would give 6 if I could. Secondly The food was Not very well presented in the buffet more ...

5 Star Service - 4 Star Maintenance & Packages Presence

Sapphire was built in 2004 and refurbished in 2018. It hold ups to 2670 passengers and up to 1100 crew. That's a nice crew to passenger ratio. This smaller ship really provides wonderful service. We took a repositioning cruise from Vancouver to Los Angeles from October 8th-15th, 2023. I would have given them a 4 1/2 stars, but that wasn't a choice. The reality is even though, they ...

PRE-EMBARKATION: We requested tactile hearing devices to be installed in our cabin and received a confirmation email a month prior to sailing stating the info was forwarded to the appropriated department on the boat. In the evening on day 1, I went to guest relations to inform them of the issue. The ship had no record of our request. Two days into the cruise we were playing telephone tag with ...

We chose this cruise because it fit in with other travel plans and we wanted to experience a Holland ship. Overall we had a relaxing time and would recommend. Embarkation was reasonable, but there was a moderate wait for getting through customs and a holding room for getting on the ship. Overall it took about an hour and a half from entering the port to entering the ship (finished around ...

Worst cruise experience--hoping this was a one time thing

This was my 12 cruise on Princess and they have always been great. Some of the problems on this one were outside of Princess' control but there's no excuse for the cabin problems. The first day my cabin was cold but I'm not one to complain about things normally so I just let it go. Changing the temp on the thermostat didn't do anything. The evening of day one my TV went out. I suddenly ...

I chose this week long cruise to test Princess before taking a longer cruise in the fall. Immediately after the week was over I cancelled the longer trip. My “mini suite” was no larger than a regular balcony suite on Holland America. The water in the bathroom was scalding hot and they did nothing about it. Half of the public areas were so cold you had to wear a jacket or coat and there was ...

Great to be cruising again

This was our careful return to cruising after a 3-year pandemic hiatus. While both fully vaccinated, we were determined to exercise prudence and avoid crowds. We used Westjet credits from cancelled flights and traveled from Toronto to Vancouver, with pre-cruise stay at the Exchange hotel, 3 blocks from the terminal. We were very satisfied with this property. Dinner was at the Cactus Club Café ...

Great Pacific Coastal 5 Day Cruise

We chose this cruise due to the departure port (Vancouver) for a quick getaway. Vancouver to LA (stops in Astoria, Santa Barbara, San Diego). Weather in Vancouver was perfect for sail-away, and it's always great fun to leave under the Lion's Gate Bridge. The seas were like glass the entire cruise. The ship seemed in great shape, and the crew was by far the friendliest of any large cruise ...
