First this was not a 15 night Bering Sea & Japan TransPacific but an 8 night Vancouver to Los Angeles Pacific Coast cruise. The ship was in very good condition with a few exceptions, like a bench seat with torn upholstery in the Oceanview Cafe. Took the Alaskan inside passage cruise with Holland America line as part of a larger Canada vacation. This was a vacation held over from 2020.

Our first cruise in 33 months was chosen for the ports (five of them new to us), the relative ease of round-tripping for 14 days from our home town and the avoidance of anything at all to do with flying. Cruising on the Koningsdam in September 2022 was a cruise that had been planned in 2019 and as a result of Covid 19, it kept getting moved.
