Ship had its issues, but still enjoyed the cruise

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Crown Princess

Round trip out of Vancouver with 4 ports. Embarkment was a nightmare 3 1/2 hrs of mostly standing in line. This was a perfect itinerary for a group of 12. The ship was scheduled for dry dock immediately after we returned so wasn’t sure what to expect. The Bottecelli DR was noisy due to engine issues but other than that, didn’t notice any issues that were serious enough to ruin a cruise. We had 2 ...

Poorest service ever on a cruise ship! I would give it less than 1 out of 5 if I could!

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Queen Elizabeth

Chose this ship since it was going through the panama canal, across the atlantic and on to the mediterranean. Worst staff ever! most staff were incompetent at their jobs, especially reception and pursers office. Many staff were outright rude! we have never seen such widespread rudeness on a cruise ship. Room steward LOCKED ME OUT on my patio and then blamed the door (said it locked ...

One of the best trips we have ever taken.

Although we did complete the evaluation form given to us onboard the Explorer, when we got home from the Epic 80* trip, we wished we had said more. That expedition was absolutely one of the best trips we have ever taken. Russ Evans, the expedition leader, did everything he could to maximize our exposure to spectacular wildlife and landings. As promised, he woke us during the night when there ...

Dream vacation that exceeded our expectations!

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Le Soleal

This Ponant cruise greatly exceeded our expectations! We're first time cruisers and read many reviews before choosing this cruise line. We were looking for a smaller ship that would provide a more personal experience which could get into some of the tighter ports and avoid the crush of hundreds of other travelers with the same agenda. Embarkation was smooth. Once we cleared security at the ...

Trip of a lifetime

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Le Soleal

The moment we stepped aboard and were personally greeted by the Captain and crew we had a feeling this was going to be a warm and enjoyable experience. We chose the Ponnant line following a recommendation from friends who said the small size of the ship, with about 160 passengers, allowed access to places on the Inside Passage to Alaska that other larger cruise ships cant enter. This was true ...

A cruise up the Inside Passage of Alaska has been on our Bucket List for many years. When we discovered that Ponant operated such cruises on their luxury, small ships, we jumped at the opportunity. Life on board was fantastic, such wonderful French influence was everywhere, from welcome aboard to departure. The cabin was very nice and the dining on Level 2 exceptional. Of course the staff were ...

Maybe the best ever

Review for a Alaska Cruise on L'Austral

This is an amazing ship with a wonderfully helpful staff. On this particularl itinerary, there was 0% single supplement, which made sailing alone possible. Overall a wonderful trip. Dining: Food in the main dining room is over the top spectacular and, as others have noted, the pastries are unbelievable. I was very happy with the included wines and spirits, but I am not knowledgeable about ...

Only part i can give 5 stars to are the ship and the suites. Our suite was small but felt larger than it was. There was amazing storage and hanging places to put all our stuff. Bathroom was elegant with a separate toilet. Good fitness center with floor to ceiling windows to see the view. Service was reluctant at best. When ever I went to reception for a question or information, the first ...

We just finished a cruise from Vancouver Wa. to Clarkson Wa. And we were impressed with the quality of the product. Everyone was super friendly, no matter the position or rank onboard.. The food was excellent, the entertainment was fun,on shore excursions were well chosen. This was my second cruise with this cruise ship company, and the consistency was apparent between boats. They hire local ...

A good friend and myself took the first cruise of the season on the American Empress. We were greeted at the dock by a very friendly petite woman (Lyndie) offering to help with our bags. We checked into a lush 2 bed room. Very comfortable size, beautiful attention to detail. The beds and bedding were amazing with a private veranda. You'll find extra comfort in your complimentary robes and ...
