My daughter and i enjoy cruising together and decided to do a royal caribbean cruise up to alaska. she saw the cruise at a good price last january, and some family decided later, that they wanted to join us, but price went up very steeply so they did not come. i am diamond level and daughter is ruby level. I get quite a few perks. a room up on deck 13 only diamond member can get in, 4 hours a ...

We chose the ship because we had friends in Sitka and wanted to visit them and wanted to leave from Vancouver where we also looked forward to meeting old cruising friends. We were 4, Dad, son and two faughters, all Seniors but all Diamond on RCL. I was in a wheelchair for getting on and off and for longer on board ventures. We booked a 2 bedroom Grand Suite because it met our needs for separate ...

Good Cruise. Disappointing Denali Land Tour!

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Nieuw Amsterdam

My wife and I have cruised on many different lines and ships. This trip was our first with Holland America. The Nieuw Amsterdam is what I would call a moderate sized ship, especially when compared to the newer “mega ships”. We found the ship itself to be clean and for the most part, well run. It is slightly older, as are it’s passengers! The food was quite good and we used the dining room ...

First Alaska cruise 14 days

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Grand Princess

Picked this cruise as a B2B to the Vancouver-Sydney relocation cruise. The weather for 14 days was bleak, but doing a return trip we managed to see everything we wanted, though we missed Hubbard Glacier and the first Ketchikan stop. The internet worked well and we had no problems with the Medallion app. Would have spent more time in the casino except the smoke smell was terrible, seeping out ...

Perfect sized ship for Alaskan cruise

Food was excellent (nice choice and variety). Service has excellent (stateroom stewards were amazing!). Thoroughly enjoyed how close the ship got to Hubbard Glacier. Also enjoyed the other ports of call. The Naturalist on the cruise was also amazing. Saw dolphins, whales, and sea lions from the ship - cool! DID NOT LIKE WARD’S COVE. Oceania’s parent company, NCL, has their own dock, outside ...

Beautiful, scenic Alaskan cruise, well-designed ship, falls short in some areas

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Seven Seas Explorer

We sailed northbound to Seward on Explorer, departing Vancouver. Loved Vancouver as a port; should have done this cruise in opposite direction. The ship is beautiful and well-designed. Pre-cruise package included a night at Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, which was gorgeous and had excellent food and service. Transfer of luggage to ship worked seamlessly. We were able to begin boarding the ship at ...

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Sapphire Princess

Price for a turnaround Alaskan cruise was really inexpensive. You see same ports but different glaciers. Obstructed ocean view cabin is clean and comfortable. I just wish Princess would clean the outside windows. The new Alaskan menu in the dining room is excellent if you like fish/ seafood. 3 production shows good, comedians horrible. The naturalist onboard gave informative lectures but the ...

Great Service, Good Room Attendant, Great Dining Room Experience

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Majestic Princess

Princess has a great Reputation in Alaska. Waiter, and Dining Room Staff did an excellent job. We talked with a Restaurant Manager shortly after boarding and he gave us a great seat by the window in the Aft Dining Room Allegro. We were seated on the far right down the Waiter Isle. Off to the left. We usually always have good service by Cruise waitstaff on our cruises, but these Fellows were the ...

We had been planning a cruise tour and my brother booked this one, so it was similar to what we were looking at. Our room stewards were excellent. There was plenty of activities to keep you going if you wanted. We had sprinkles or rain most days but still had great views. New York pizza was very good. Also the fries at Dive In, just really good. Pinnacle Grill, filet was excellent along with ...

A surprising cruise to Alaska

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Celebrity Eclipse

We sailed from Vancouver on August 27, and as other reviews have mentioned, the embarkation process is a complete mess. With 3 ships in port there was upwards of 7,000 passengers all snaking thru the same line and it took us almost 2 hours to board. Someone definitely needs to look at this process. We’ve had 8 cruises in total and have never gone thru something like this! Being from Vancouver, I’m ...
