My wife and I have taken 59 cruises. This exploration has completed our trip around the world. We have been to all seven continents. The staff and crew on the ship were excellent. The food was excellent. Our cabin was a good size with plenty of space. The window allowed us to see what was going on outside all of the time. The trips on the Zodiac and the Special Operation Boat provided us ...

We were on the Viking Polaris for the Antarctic Explorer cruise from Jan 18 - 30, 2024 Packing tips: - Viking provides trekking poles at every landing (2/person) so don’t pack them despite what the website says. - Viking provides 2 sets of good binoculars on floatation straps in your room so unless you are picky don’t bring your own. Optika HD Meopta 8x42 7.5 - Bring at least one, ...

This was our seventh continent to visit. Always had been put off by the cost, but bit the bullet when Atlas offered 2 for 1. We had been close to a decision to use Viking. The ship, crew, and voyage exceeded our expectations. Lucky for us, on a scale of 1 to 10 (worst) the Drake going was a 1 and 2.5 returning. The expeditions were overwhelming visually and animals blew us away. While most ...

I traveled to the Falklands, South Georgia, the Antarctic Peninsula, and south of the Antarctic Circle in January of 2024 aboard the Ultramarine. This was a trip of a lifetime for me and one that I had always dreamed of. On trips like this, the dream and expectations are often too high, and real life can't deliver. Thankfully, Quark delivered! It was a fantastic trip, and I can't imagine a better ...

Incredible mix of luxury and adventure

Review for a Antarctica Cruise on SH Vega

We chose this cruise because it was the most comfortable and luxurious ship going to Antarctica that *also* prioritized excursions and was the size that allowed all guests the maximum amount of time on the continent. Bigger ships have to stagger guests and avoid certain landings, smaller ships can't provide the onboard services or handle the drake passage that well. It's a new ship, built in 2022, ...

This was my 8th trip with Lindblad Expediitions and it did not dissapoint. Communicaiton from beginning to end was flawless. The transfers from the airport to hotels and ship were seamless. The beauty of Antarctia was amazing, however it was the staff and naturalists who made the trip exceptional. Captain Heidi and Expedition Leader Andy planned very effectively around any weather concerns, ...

I had high expectations and they were exceeded. The scenery was stunning. The outings were well executed. The staterooms and public spaces were beautiful and comfortable. And the food was outstanding. I was especially delighted with the number and quality of vegetable choices. Many meat choices as well. I was able to eat healthy delicious food, as good as I cook at home. We had one or ...

Exceptional Service, ship and itinerary

Review for a Antarctica Cruise on Viking Polaris

We researched the best ship and itinerary for our trip to Antartica and went with Viking. It could not have been a better choice for us. First, the fact that their Antartica ships are expedition with the most knowledgeable and capable guides made it stand out above other cruise lines. We did not want a large, commercial-ish ship with thousands of people. It would have taken away from the peaceful ...

Just back from an Antarctica cruise on the SH Diana, January 2024. Highly recommend! The ship is beautiful. The scenery & wildlife are spectacular! Diana was new in May of 2023. The ship has all the modern technology and runs smoothly and silently. Comfortable cabins (more on that below) and well-furnished common areas. More importantly, SH has done an excellent job in recruiting guides and ...
