Antarctica was the last continent for me to visit, I received an offer from Swan Hellenic and after some research, booked the trip. It was, simply put, AMAZING, a trip of a lifetime. Everything was top notch from the pre cruise hotel to the ship, the excursions, the food and the staff! The food was terrific, did you ever hear of king crab leg and lobster being served on a buffet, all you can ...

Review for a Antarctica Cruise on Viking Polaris

We always were interest in a trip to Antarctica. This one fit our schedule and the price was good when the sale opened up. We really lucked out having good weather for our expeditions and the drake passage was smooth both going down and coming back. It was nice to having all the expeditions so well planned and organized. The science discussions and work on the ship was a very nice touch and ...

We had been told it was for adults only and that you didnt have to Dress for dinner! Also it was an expedition boat so that we could go onto the land and I also wanted to kayak so I thought we would get some exercise. I also enjoyed the spa and the staff there were spectacular however I only discovered the hairdresser on the last day! I looked at the cabin and it seemed spacious as did the ...

Expedition of a Lifetime!!

Review for a Antarctica Cruise on World Traveller

I had always wanted to go the 7th continent and of course, see Antarctica, the glaciers, icebergs, natural wildlife and cross the Drake passage! It was a life changing adventure and hard to describe. We had a Drake "lake" passing which was a bonus! The expeditions and crew were fantastic. We saw 4 different types of whales, 3 different types of seals, 3 different types of penguins and several ...

We had a great Antarctic expedition on the SH Vega. The ship is new so all the spaces are well-designed and attractive in a Scandinavian style. Our cabin was very nice. I loved the seating area and relaxing after the long day in front of the "fireplace", or taking a dip in the heated pool. Comfy beds and lots of storage in the room. For the expeditions, we made it out two times each day, ...

Pristine polar wilderness and adventures!

Review for a Antarctica Cruise on Quark Ultramarine

User Avatar

I just embarked on my first voyage to Antarctica with quark to experience the magic of the destination and raw wildlife and was fortunate to witness the awe inspiring beauty of humpback whales and three species of penguins ( Gentoo, Adelie and Chinstrap), fur and weddell seals, amongst an array of antarctic birds. An epic journey that undisputes quark as a leader of polar adventures as it made us ...

Exciting exotic location way, way, way, way off the beaten path. The opportunity to explore and learn, while staging from an amazingly comfortable and luxurious base with exceptional tour guides was unbeatable. Each and every member of the crew was personable and accommodating. The expedition leaders were extremely knowledgeable and very enthusiastic about their work. Simply having the ...

This was the best cruise I have ever been on, it is definitely a once in a lifetime experience. The ships was beautiful, clean, and comfortable. The staff was wonderful and very helpful and the food was great. The expedition crew was friendly, knowledgeable and made the experiences ashore most interesting and exciting. I would recommend this cruise to anyone who is looking for an unusual ...

Awesome - First Class Experience

Review for a Antarctica Cruise on Viking Polaris

First Time Cruiser • Age 70s

First of all, the destination itself is an incredible adventure, with wildlife seen every day and breathtaking scenery. While we have been on many cruises, this was our first on Viking, and will not be our last. Food and service were excellent - as was the ship itself. Note that an Antarctica cruise is way different from the typical, as there are no "ports", no cities to visit. Every ...

Excellent Service and Education. Bad Communication

Review for a Antarctica Cruise on SH Diana

User Avatar

We booked the premium suite and every material item on the cruise ship is nice. Fixtures are well appointed, bed is wide and comfortable, service is top notch and excellent, expedition guides are super knowledgeable and friendly. So why the poor review? 1) The Captain made the decision to cut the last day of expedition and return to port early despite claiming rough seas except the day we ...
